Next year is when the rubber really hits the road for Seattle's cap. Both Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman will be up, but until then, they've got another year to keep them on the cap friendly terms of their original deals.

John Schneider will have his work cut out for him.

Look at all the talent they brought in within the last 3 years… especially last year alone. It is amazing, and it paid off with the SB win. I kind of wish Ted would take more chances like they did to push his team over the hump. Another Lombardi Trophy for the Packers would have made it worthwhile these last 3 seasons, even if we would have had to purge the roster a bit afterwards.

I don't think it can be done through the draft alone. I just don't.

They wouldn't have probably 1/2 of the FA they have if they had to pay real starting QB salaries.

It has been really nice to go from a HOF QB to what appears to be another HOF QB but that privileged has come at the expense of what can be done in the FA market.

It is a difficult endeavor to build on that kind of success. We now have Rodgers and Matthews signed to their deals, and new ones coming in for Nelson and Cobb, amongst others.

I'm pretty much saying our window was 2011-12. The game is now changed in GB on this level. You're absolutely right. But, we can add top talent. It is just going to require some better, and more difficult decision making.

With that said, they've got almost 20 million wrapped up in Rice/Harvin who have been virtually useless to them. Schneider still deserves the credit because even with those missteps he's found competent receivers and depth across the roster to field a great team.

Now we are on the other end of that.

Now that we have Rodgers and Clay locked up draft picks and street FA must produce in order for us to have the space and ability to make that push.

I would rather go all in and have to do a small rebuild for a year or two than just be a play off team all the time.

This is the first time in forever that the best 2 teams played in the Super Bowl. Last year's Ravens were probably not the best team in the league. But they were in the playoffs. In 2011, the Giants sure weren't the best team in NFL, but they won the Super Bowl.

Quick. Which Packer team was better: 2010 or 2011? 2011 clearly, in my opinion. But 2010 won the Super Bowl, 2011 didn't. 2010 was the #6 seed. So they barely got into playoffs. But they got hot and won it all.

It might have been 1985, when Whitey Herzog said something along the lines of "I wouldn't mind losing the World Series every year. Because that means I at least got here." That's what I want. Get me to the playoffs every year. If we weren't so spoiled, more Packer fans would want that too.

And doing so, with good draft and develop does not mean we would not have a chance at the playoffs on the other years as well it just means at those times we are giving it the extra effort to try for the SB.

2010 was the better team, it just faced much more adversity during the season. The team was only the 6th seed because of the injuries in the early middle parts of the season especially to Finley which caused the offense to need to be changed because of the amount of focus they planned with him that year.
