You have a magic wand and through free agency or draft can add one playmaker to a single position on the Packers. What position and why does this propel them closer to a championship?

It's always a risk, the megabucks FA game but I think the defensive front is the cornerstone of a defense, and provided he plays to potential, Greg Hardy could be a top playmaker. He has great size (6'4, 290lbs), and with Mike Daniels Developing nicely, the entire complexion of the defense changes.

I wonder about this. Without adequate S improvements, we'll be left with more of the same. I would rather go with Jairus Byrd. Both Datone Jones and Josh Boyd look like they can make a big swing upward going into year two, making DL improvements possibly less important than S.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on the DL being the cornerstone of a D. I do think we should add a NT in the draft, or possibly via FA… I don't see Raji returning, and Pickett may be able to stick as a backup. We could stand to add another high quality big fella in there.

I'll just go best case scenario without putting any nametags on. Greg Hardy, for instance, is one guy who's a bit of an uncertainty when you plug him into a 3-4 system.

I'll go for a playmaker at the OLB position (surprise) or a mauling NT. A Tamba Hali or Vince Wilfork type, respectively.

Like PFWT said, you improve the frond end and the back end will follow. That's how the Giants won their Super Bowls, behind a fierce pass rush with some decent players behind them. If a QB is constantly under pressure, feeling the heat, getting hit, not having any time... He'll either get absolutely nowhere or start throwing it towards your safeties and CBs.
