Of course it's not ENTIRELY Capers fault, nor is it entirely Ted Thompson's fault. It's a combination of everything. But from my perspective, Capers has still done a pretty bad job, often when it matters most. I also think he SHOULD have been getting more out of the talent he has. This season has been pretty rough with injuries yet again, but it's not a new thing. Capers has had enough talent to at least maintain an average defense, especially with the Packers offense in recent years. I just think it's time for a fresh start to give someone else a chance. These things happen. The Packers defense isn't going to become the Seahawks or 49'ers in terms of talent in the next year or so, so they need a coach that can maximize the production out of the talent available. It's worth the risk to try to find that coach, imo. Even if the coach isn't that great, I can't imagine him being much worse than Capers, so I don't see much harm in attempting to find a better coach.
