I guess it is forbidden to express an opinion or to wish for the team to make any changes whatsoever without being criticized. I doubt any one on this site feels that they are able to become the GM of the Packers organization. Well except nermann.
Maaaaaaay as well beeeeee sheeeep and foooooollow bbbbblindly along with noooooo oooopiniooooon of ooooooour oooooown.

WHAT????? Where did you ever get that idea from?

Obviously, you haven't been reading packershome GM geniuses posts for long!!!

Watch after EVERY loss or win for that matter, certain individuals will be pointed out and blamed for the loss, or blamed for the game being closer than it should have been, or get blamed for a game that happened 5 years ago, or get blamed for a future game, now, because our online geniuses CAN SEE INTO THE FUTURE!!!!!

Now Get With The Program!!!!!!!!

I never said no one should give their
opinions. Everyone should be held accountable
in their jobs.
But look around the NFL. Are the Packers the only
team that has weaknesses?

The Packers
have been better then most NFL teams in
the NFL for more then 20 years. We can count
the number of bad years on our fingers, and
have fingers left over.

yes they have.

Yet no team is perfect. No draft pick is a
sure thing. No one is right 100% of the time.

never said otherwise.

Ted and McCarthy have, all will make more
mistakes. I know they will try to correct them.

obviously. Just expressing an opinion as to what should have been done ad what they can do in the future.

I bet that if Aaron Rodgers wouldn't have got hurt the Packers
would be in 1st place in the division and
all this hand wringing wouldn't be going
on right now.

not quit true. even in the 15-1 season many could see flaws in team and expressed concern over them.

If this is a one year glitch, then it's not a
deal breaker. If they stink next year then
it might be time to clean house.

they have had the same issues for several years and have not addressed them.

If you disagree with me, you have every
right to. It's all just opinions.
I might be totally wrong.
I only base my opinions on what I think.
It would be a boring world if we all agreed all
the time!

yep.

I didn't write the story. I don't know what he slant is. Ted did begin his tenor by drafting qbs. 4 in the first 4 years. Then quit. Only 1 in the next 5 years. I think the author was pointing out that he changed his philosophy. He should have mentioned the earlier years but his focus was on the more recent drafts and how that was different than Wolf. I think he should also have said the rules in the NFL have changed as well. Then again I don't know how much space he is allowed for the story. He could have said a lot of other things but probably didn't have time or space to do so.

Someone may say that there was no need to draft a qb when Rodgers is the qb for the team. I think his comparison was to say Wolf had Favre and he still drafted 7 qb in 9 years. Until 1999 (Aaron Brooks R4) he never drafted anyone higher than the 5th round yet ended up with a few decent (serviceable) qbs in Detmer, Brunell and Hasselbeck.

Personally I liked Ted having the flexibility to draft other positions than qb but he still can't neglect the position indefinitely. I have talked about FAs. I prefer the qb to come from the draft. Pick up one qb and keep him on the PS for 2-3 years before he gets bumped up to #2. Then stick someone else on the PS to develop. Unless Aaron goes down in the first year of the growth process someone will be on the team to back him up that has a 3-4 years in the system before he moves on like Flynn did.

Unfortunately I think we probably got too comfortable with Flynn as the back-up that we did get complacent drafting-wise and unfortunately for the QB position learning the system is something that just doesn't happen over night and free agents need time to develop and in our present situation that is not the case.

I was just doing some reading and i came across something I am sure we would never see Ted Thompson do and that was to make a trade like the Rams did last year and they are really making out on it now. They traded away the #2 overall pick last year for he Redskins for the sixth pick and a second rounder that year, and the first round picks in 2013 and 2014.

So they dropped down 4 spots in the 1st round and got an extra 2nd round. But the Rams are really reaping the deal coming next year when as it stands right now would have the 2nd overall pick and if the Texans win a game or 2 could be the #1 overall pick and could very easily have 2 top 10 picks overall with their pick and then they still have 2 1st round picks next year.

That is a good way to start your rebuilding or filling of holes lol.

To bad we would never see anything like this from TT.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Zero2Cool (23h) : check out packerpeople.com
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Oh crap I missed that! I thought it was a 2026 pick

Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : We are hosed.
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Per Schefter, GB is sending a 6th rounder for OT Darian Kennard

dfosterf (23-Aug) : Taylor Elgersma is going to be very hard to hide.
Mucky Tundra (23-Aug) : Matthew Golden=DAWG (so load the wagons!!) !!!!!
dfosterf (18-Aug) : We do have good depth at running back imo. Still so frustrating. Bitching about it is a futile excercise, which I plan to do anyway.

Mucky Tundra (17-Aug) : Not a surprise; inevitable
Zero2Cool (17-Aug) : Brewers streak ends at 14
Zero2Cool (17-Aug) : SURPRISE

Zero2Cool (16-Aug) : 90 MINUTES UNTIL FAKE KICKOFF!!
Martha Careful (16-Aug) : I think Ruven is a bot, but regardless should be stricken from the site.
Zero2Cool (14-Aug) : Packers RB Josh Jacobs ranked No. 33 in NFL 'Top 100'
dfosterf (13-Aug) : The LVN Musgrave collision- Andy Herman said Musgrave seemed to be the one most impacted injury-wise
dfosterf (13-Aug) : a lower back injury
dfosterf (13-Aug) : Doubs says he's "fine" after injury scare. Some reported it as z
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : With LVN that is; need to see what happens in the next practice
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : beast, reading about what happened, it sounded like one of those "two guys collide and are moving slow afterwards" type of deals
beast (12-Aug) : I believe Musgrave has been injured every single season since at least a Sophomore in highschool
packerfanoutwest (12-Aug) : Matt LaFleur: “Highly unlikely” Jordan Love plays more this preseason
dfosterf (12-Aug) : Doubs, Savion Williams, LVN, Musgrave all banged up to one degree or another, missing one here I forget
Zero2Cool (12-Aug) : RB Tyrion Davis-Price is signing with the Green Bay Packers.
Zero2Cool (12-Aug) : zero help, dominated. preseason
beast (12-Aug) : QB Jordan Love has surgery
beast (12-Aug) : Martha said Morgan had a lot of help, I didn't watch the OL so I can't say.
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Packers LT Jordan Morgan did not allow a single pressure across 23 pass-blocking snaps vs. Jets last night, per PFF
Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : With buckeye and the reasonable couple, we're currently sitting at 10
buckeyepackfan (10-Aug) : Just posted to re-up on our FFL.
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : If healthy after, then thats all I care. Well, no drops would be nice
wpr (10-Aug) : I made it through the 1st Q.
dfosterf (10-Aug) : Just gotta figure out how.
dfosterf (10-Aug) : Could have been a worse start, so there is that.

Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : Sooooooo many penalties
Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : It may only be preseason, but this game is a trip to the dentist

dfosterf (10-Aug) : Well that half was fun
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Great, zayne is down
