Boy what I would have given for Crosby to get that record. It would be very, very hard to touch for a long time, given the extenuating circumstances to lead to the attempt and the distance.

Not to mention if he was kicking INTO the wind. What if he HAD the wind? He'd make it from 80.

I don't see why we don't give this guy more opportunities. Screw the punter.

And as for the phantom Jon Ryan comment--sorry, we didn't draft Ryan. We drafted Crosby, and in my view--if you're gonna waste a draft pick on a kicker, he better be kicking on your team for more than a decade.

I've often wondered why kickers can boot these amazing kicks in practice but miss shorter kicks during games. I imagine the pressure of charging opponents has something to do with it.
