I don't know about you but I am stoked! Like a kid before Christmas!

This could prove to be one of our more impactful drafts moving forward, as the right choices could help take us to a SB win. That is my hope anyway.

Talk on the site seems a bit light considering it is the eve of the draft. This is OUR time as Packers fans to add new talent. Ted Thompson is quite good in this arena, and I wish him the very best to improve our team.

I want D to be the priority, especially DL. But, if we land a top WR, TE or RB early, I will be equally as thrilled with the selection. IMO, there are still some quality FAs to be had on the D side should we hit more O in this draft. It should be fun to see Ted work his way through this one. I could see him trading out of R1, then back up into R2 or R3 for more or to better his chances of getting exactly who he wants.

I would love to see him somehow get an additional R1 this year, even if that means trading away next year's. We need immediate help.

Super. Stoked!

Checked the calender when I woke up today; it was only Wednesday 😢

Really interested to see how the first three rounds are navigated by Ted Thompson
ā€œNah. I like having the island. It’s pretty cool...not too many visitorsā€

I want him to trade up, and I want him to trade down, but I bet he does so in inverse order. That top 100 looks loaded. It WILL be interesting.

This draft & develop thing can weigh heavy on a fan's heart. Hayward was the only real player to come through bigtime for us last season. I'm hopeful for the developing to occur, and that Perry, Manning and Worthy (when he comes back), McMillian, Daniels, Sherrod, Green, House, DJ Williams, Ryan Taylor et al can make names for themselves this season.

Regardless, it is a new draft, and I hope it is one of Ted's best. Ever.

I've been working 6 tens for the last 6 weeks, I don't even know what day it is. I am very unprepared for this year's draft.

I'm very excited to be sleeping throughout the entire thing. It starts at 1:00 am and I have to get out at 6.

I miss the old, two day NFL Draft.

I'm really hoping we get 4 or 5, or even 6 of any of these players:

Star Lotulelei NT
Sylvester Williams DT
D.J. Fluker OT
Bjeorn Werner DE
Margus Hunt DE
Datone Jones DE
Jesse Williams NT
Jonathan Jenkins NT
Johnathan Hankins DT
Philip Thomas S
Jonathan Cyprien S
Tyler Eifert TE
Travis Frederick C
Brian Schwenke C
David Quessenberry LT
Kyle Long OG
Jamie Collins OLB
Kwame Geathers NT
Montee Ball RB
Le'Veon Bell RB
Stephan Taylor RB
Justin Hunter WR
Cordarrelle Patterson WR

As it stands we can probably get 3 from this group, we should be able to anyway. With some shrewd trading, maybe Ted can add to that total. I'd be thrilled if he stuck to the lines, and maybe added one top skill player on O.

BTW, I miss the Saturday/Sunday draft. I think Ted does too. I recall him saying in an article how he was more of a morning person, and that this new format is not to his liking.

From what all the "experts are saying, after around the top 10 picks, there is not a whole lot of difference between 11 and 32,and plenty of really good talent in the top 70 or so,
meaning if someone wanted to make a big splash they would have to jump into the top 10.
I don't see Ted doing that, but there is a real possiblity that another team may want to jump back into the bottom of the 1st rnd and Ted may go for that.

Scenario...49r's have the 31st pick plus 2- 2nd's and 2 - 3rds.

If you were Ted and they called and offered the 31st pick plus a 2nd rnd, or the 31st and both 3rd rnd picks, would you deal with The 49rs?

edit..(I know 49rs have a higher 1st rnd pick but that would have already been used)
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

beast (4h) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (8h) : meh
Zero2Cool (12h) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026

Zero2Cool (18h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (19h) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
