Me. Cal2GreenBay...
I said it.
Sure he's producing respectable numbers. Sure he's been decent with his
completion percentage. Sure he doesn't gamble like Brett Favre did(does).
But as the HEIR APPARENT as the Green Bay leader...
AARON RODGERS MUST WIN.
PERIOD.
I've seen the close games this year...they could go either way.
The defense gave up big plays last year as well.
The X factor is that I was "expecting" Aaron to come through
during the final drives to win games.
In Atlanta, Tennesee, New Orleans, Houston...AND especially today in Jacksonville...
Aaron had a chance to WIN THE GAME...and did not.
I know his shoulder's not 100% still.
I know he's altered his throwing motion slightly.
And I too believe he's pressing a bit.
but Aaron DOES need to make something out of nothing.
It is the ultimate paradox.
YOu don't want to press but you do want to make something happen.
If you win..you are a gunslinger...if you lose..you are pressing.
So Aaron is pressing.
He needs to FIND WAYS to win.
Even when his normal accuracy passes are not working..he's got
to BELIEVE he can win.
We can talk bad coaching, bad defense, bad plays all we want to..
But it's essentially the same team last year.
Brett is the x-factor for the JETs.
they are finding ways to win.
As much as it pains me to say it...
Aaron has not been the x-factor for the PACKERS.
He has proven to me that he can fill the stat book,
but I need him to show me the x-factor he showed at CAL..
The x-factor that MATT RYAN is showing.
Aaron needs to prove something and get this team winning
for the last two games.
And he BETTER show some grit next year.
Yes..I said it.

Cal - Weird me the big Brett Favre fan defending Aaron, but here goes...
Yes, Aaron has failed to produce in final drives. BUT, the 5-9 record is not that much reflective of Aaron Rodgers and has almost EVERYTHING to do with Ted Thompson having four years, yes, count 'em, four years to build an Offensive Line and a Defensive Line. He has failed. Failed. Failed. Ted Thompson gets a big fat F on both sides of the football.
I personally am loving Aaron Rodgers. He has turned out better than I expected. Yes, he has shown signs of desperation, like a cornered rat. But what choice does he have? He's taking hits all day long. I can't stand seeing Aaron taking these hits. 30 sacks in 14 games for a guy with pretty good awareness? I don't put the blame on him. I put it on Ted Thompson for failing at the OL.
Our OL is a joke. So is our DL, except for Kampy who Ted Thompson didn't find. And Justin "I'm now officially a bust" Harrell replacing Corey Williams? Oh, don't get me started.
As for Brett on the Jets, it's not a fair comparison. BF is the best QB ever to play the game. I don't think it's fair to compare anyone to BF. Anyone.
Problem #2 - Mike McCarthy needs to inspire these Packer players. I see half the team looking like burned out porno actresses out there. Woody, Kampy, and Collins want to be there on D. On O, Aaron, Gregorious, Jordy and Donald want to be there. The rest of the team? I don't know. Mike McCarthy needs to motivate. He has failed at that. I'm seeing a heartless, disgruntled team that has a tremendous amount of talent and is not playing with any heart.
Your boy is going to be good, Cal. I'm proud of him. I'm just hating Ted Thompson & Mike McCarthy right now. Don't worry, he will show grit next year but the rest of the team needs to show some grit as well. If Mike McCarthy doesn't light a fire under everyone's *** next year, he SHOULD be on the hot seat. And Ted Thompson better find some lines on both sides of the ball next year or he too SHOULD be on the hot seat.
Aaron is not the problem.
