I found this article/blog  to be very interesting. It is obvious that the Packers defense has a lot of work to do. There were so many glaring holes in the defense and so many mistakes made and this guy lays it out pretty nicely.

On the Moss touchdown, I truly thought it was Burnett's mistake but the article showed it was MD Jennings who blew the assignment. A big time mental mistake...

On the Gore touchdown, the Packers were burned on outside contain. AJ Hawk and Brad Jones screwed up. A big time physical mistake (what a shocker)...

We all sat and witnessed the ugliness of the Packers defense on Sunday afternoon. A lot of us, myself included were preparing to jump off a cliff. Some did jump off a cliff and attacked Dom Capers immediately in week 1 and called "off with his head!" (I honestly don't blame you)

It was rough to watch that little mediocre quarterback, Alex Smith, beat OUR Packers. In my opinion, I wasn't entirely shocked. It became even worse and more noticeable how much the Packers defense lacks when I tuned into the Ravens/Bengals game. Ravens have a legitimate hard-nosed defense that plays lights out what seemed like every single play and they hardly made mistakes. I sat there and dreamed about the *what ifs* if the Packers defense was as physical and good as the Ravens.

Thoughts after looking at the article?

Seems like all our DBs EXCEPT Morgan Burnett are responsible for the "miscommunications."

It was Nick Perry on the rushing TD, not Brad Jones. Perry is #53.

EDIT: Otherwise, Hawk messed up BAD. Inexcusable, for sure. Especially from a veteran. MD Jennings mistake is unacceptable as well, but the guy was making his first 'start'. I don't like it, but young players are going to make mistakes and several of them. That's the risk the staff takes when choosing to put such an inexperienced player on the field. I would hope the veterans would pick up the slack.

I can't agree more. I don't think anybody on the Pack defense strikes fear in opposing players. On the two point conversion that Nelson caught he took a lick from behind. I simultaneously winced (don't want to see Nelson hurt) and got a little bit jealous that our defense doesn't lay opposing players out. Not to say that brutal hits will fix this defense's problems, it just seems like another symptom of the root problem - lack of intensity. It seems so routine for opposing teams to convert 3rd downs and it's like nobody cares. When other teams blitz you see lightening fast darts shooting through the line and engulfing the qb before he can react. Our version of a blitz involves a LB running into two linemen and Woodson doing a spin move in front of a blocker, all while the quarterback gallops merrily through the line for a 15 yard gain.

I know "intensity" is a cop-out description of what is wrong with the defense, but I can't help but think that everytime I see them play.

On the flip side, I'm excited about the potential of the younger talent on the team (Shields, Perry, Matthews, House, etc...)

I am excited for the potential as well. I really wish House was healthy because I cringe seeing Bush covering the #2 WR. Perry is already helping with the pass rush and deserves a lot of slack on

Hopefully intensity will pick up as young players become more assignment sure. Players and coaches have their work cut out if they want to think championship. My biggest disappointment so far is that Worthy can't beat out Wilson. CJ is a good back up but I don't see him as starting material and was hoping that Worthy would clearly be better than him immediately and develop from there. Having House healthy would have helped because of more talent and he seemed like a more intense player. We really miss Collins, he back with this group would have made a sizeable diffence.
