My point is that we have to have a hybrid because there's surely not enough "real Christian" people to take care of all the needy. Efficient or not, our government serves a major function in providing care for needy people.

I had a Tea Party guy tell me once that charitable organizations and churches should be put in charge of taking care of the needy and we could cut our tax bill in half. I asked how he new if the people running the charitable orgs and churches were honest. That conversation ended at that point.

The problem with our government is that they spend too much money on the military and Farm bill and not enough domestically and on infrastructure.

I know they are in the habit of saying they are. But what empirical evidence do we have that their actions match their claims?

I'm not claiming that private charities/churches are all noble and good people. I don't think anyone save the charlatans among them makes such a claim. But I just don't understand why otherwise intelligent people continue to believe those who work for state/federal/local agencies are somehow more noble and good people by virtue of where they work.

The existence of bad people does not constitute evidence that other people are good.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We'll see. Example: My money is on the governor of the fine state of Wisconsin and his balls to stand up to the whack-libs, to the benefit of all in that state. Let's revisit that one in one year.

Why can't our borders mean anything when the people crossing them take away our jobs? If you want to solve the world, then why bitch when we go to war? Aren't the Somalians at least as entitled as the Mexicans, as humans, the Ethiopians, the Afghans, the etc....

Kumbaya. We are the World, yada yada yada, I just wish they all got sent to the pinkos that live life from this problem from afar yet dig the philosophy so damn much.

Wade, I think very few people are noble and good. I certainly don't want to even think of differentiating between government employees and employees of charitable orgs and churches. We have to take care of our poor, and not just say fuck em like our House Republicans do. Behner, Cantor, Ryan should all be stripped of everything they have, injected with heroin so they become addicts, dropped off in a ghetto, and then see how they fend for themselves.

First....i don't know how many American citizens have been murdered by illegal aliens. But if it's one or more, it's too many.
Giving out "free passes" to illegals is NOT the answer. Oh, sure.....it will make it look good, as the crime rates of illegal's goes down.
It would be like making bank robbing legal. Of COURSE the crime rate would drop, as it would no longer be figured into the rate.
As i said before, the only reason Obama is doing this is to gain the Latino vote. Anyone that thinks otherwise is just trying to find a reason to not believe it's true.
Of course Obama will never have to live in a state or neighborhood that has been infiltrated by illegals, as he's one of the "evil rich" that his own party tries to crucify at every turn.

And the truth is, taxes should be lowered for ALL American citizens. If our government would try to live within it's means, you know, like REAL people have to do, they would find ways to cut all the wasted spending and the country could get back to the strong country it once was.

But there's no incentive for these bums in the government to care what they spend. There's no accountability.
Walker is trying to do that in Wisconsin, and had the liberals throw a hissy fit that cost tax payers MILLIONS of dollars that could have been used for MUCH better use.
Now it's pissed away for nothing.

Cuts have to come from the military - it's the lions share of the budget anyway. There's been enough blood money paid out in dividends to the stockholders of the weapons corporations for centuries of wealth. Time to take care of our fucked up society now. The first step will be to remove Cantor, Behnor, and Ryan. Castration and beheadings is too good for those asstards.

No, we can't simply slice the DoD in half and call it a day, or even eliminate it altogether and be solvent long-term. The long-term problems that literally will break us have nothing to do with defense (not that excess defense spending helps the issue). We need more people on both sides of the aisles willing to slash spending across the board AND tackle the issues nobody has the balls to touch (Social security, medicare) or we're screwed no matter how much we cut elsewhere.

Why does the Department of Agriculture pump out all those billions of dollars on food stamps and then tell everyone that visits a National Forest (Forest Service) "Do not feed the animals" as they become overly dependent on the handouts from humans? 🤐 [duh] 🤣

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
