Following is a position-by-position look at the Packers’ roster at the conclusion of their offseason workout and practice sessions, six weeks before the start of training camp.
We may be "thin" at RB, but imho we're better off there than we've been in a long time. LOL. This roster has so much talent that having only THREE guys who can get it done seems THIN. Actually, I'll say FOUR. Because Kuhn has shown he can get it done. Dude's not fast but he can juke guys and cut upfield. He's slow like Paul Ott Carruth, but Carruth never had moves like that.
THANK YOU TED THOMPSON!
At TE: This could be the year Crabtree doesn't make it. They could stash Quarless on PUP and good ol' "Tom Clark" could go the way of Spencer Havner. This will make room for the extra WR. Gurley/Borel/Smithson.
Third-year pro Mike Neal looked to be moving well and in good shape after his lost 2011 season, when a cartilage injury in his knee early in camp rendered him a nonentity the rest of the year.
Interesting dish on Woody:
There are two open cornerback positions now that Charles Woodson appears set to move to safety in the base defense — Woodson will remain a slot cornerback in the nickel and dime, which the Packers probably will play on about 80 percent of their defensive snaps.
Looks like they've moved Bush back into the interior. LOL. He's better there, backing up Woody than he would be on the outside. Or should I say less terrible. I bet Heyward beats him out on the depth chart though.
I like Bush as a gunner, and he can blitz from the slot position, but in coverage he's brutal. Dude can get in position, but he can't make a play on the ball.
