Corporations retain a US domicile and have foreign income all the time. Then they make a waters edge election and exempt their foreign earnings from US taxation. It's a bunch of bull shit. Make them repatriate all that income and pay US taxes or revoke their US domicile.

I agree with Gunny on seniority in Unions being bull shit. I'm sorry about your nephew in law Gunny. Send his ass to North Dakota and I'll give him a job for the summer.

I was thinking of starting a new thread for this but as long as this thread has jumped the shark in terms of being strictly on the Gov of WI-

I came across this quote by Barry Goldwater and found it interesting.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' "interests," I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.
The Conscience of A Conservative (1960), p. 15

We can have this debate all day, but it has already been decided in the marketplace. Those corporations that build the best quality service or product for the price that the marketplace says it should be survive and perhaps thrive. One negative example:

GM should be gone, imo.

They chose to accept the demands placed upon them by their labor force at various junctions and failed as a result, imo.

Unions.

Nice.

Further, the US government has no authority to be a GM stock-owner, imo. I believe it to be un-constitutional, in fact.

Edit-- ...And they failed with possibly (imo) the finest engineers on the planet. I grant that the manglement team undermined them, but please review labor cost context before condemning that group also.

U.S. corporations exist to make a profit. A profit for the shareholders. This is why people buy stock. They own that company by investing in it. We call it capitalism. These companies do not exist to be altruists. If you dig altruism, give your money to the local homeless shelter, etc. They do not exist for the benefit of their employees. They do not exist for the benefit of their employees. Get a really firm hold, and grasp this concept as you go through life. Their employees are there to help them (the corporations) make a profit for the shareholders. If you don't like that, create or buy a friggin' company and change it for your troops, if you wanna.

Like you've said a few times in this thread alone - simple math. My hatred for GM is NOTHING compared to my hatred of the banks. And for the record, Ford didn't take a penny of OUR tax money.

They had less of a load to carry on the entitlement front for the former employees, as well, which was big-time. Bad management only looking better because of the worse management at Generous Motors, imo
Ford Tough !

At what point do these people get embarrassed about their power steering pumps, their air conditioners, their AC seals, and rapidly eating tires on their pick-ups with those crap radius rods? (example)

A complete boutique industry to un-fuck Ford products, again that company also with some of the finest engineers man has known. What a country, what a system. UNION!

Ford Tough!
My ass.

Not you, of course, you did your actual research.
\:d/

To the rest--- Especially Wisconsites that voted the other day-

I'm surprised. The polls indicate you STILL think that guy you put in office (Barack whatever)is the solution, yet you rejected this recall.

A- You have no fucking clue as to what you believe in.

B- Some of what your forefathers believed in rubbed off on you.

C- National media has it wrong as regards Madison/Milwaukee vs. the rest of the state

D- You knew it wasn't right to recall him based merely on a disagreement with his philosophy. (I KNOW it isn't merely THAT, but see conservatives vs. Obama Care)

I was SURE the pinkos would prevail, but they did not. Behold the power of Cheesey! lol 'jus speculatin' lol

Mucky Tundra (28-May) : Cooper stock=BUY BUY BUY
