Damn am I getting old... I read through the thread and hit swamp donkey, I am like that is damn strange label to fling into this little scrap.. calling each other a moose. Only time I had heard that terms referenced was Canadian hunting trips. Alrighty then.. knew there had to be more to it. Googled.. at least some of those urban dictionary defs made more sense.
Anyway, South Africa has been the home of violence for decades now, and we the mighty care taker of the world really hasn't done shit about it. For one of two reasons I would guess.. either the racial aspect of it all or more than likely because there is no oil stake to be lost. Maybe because they don't have that nuclear threat or famed WMD reason to get involved.
Blunt.. probably wrong, but honestly there has been killing, human trafficking and other crimes of the unimaginable taking place there for years. Starvation and famine.. yet we the oh so noble haven't done a thing about it.
It makes the curtain of humanitarian efforts our government throws over our involvement in places like the middle east look even more sheer in contrast when looking elsewhere in the world at the hands that some of the oppressed live under.
Plain and simple, we claim to be a righteous and noble leader of this planet, yet more often than not we only get involved when we have something at stake.
Heck, we have begun to not even take care of our own when they are in need, look no further than the last couple natural disasters within this country for proof. Once again.. it is all about whom it affects and what is at stake.
But see ... that is the point of this campaign, whether you believe the front promoting or not. They are using our ignorance of those crimes directly against us and applying pressure upon those in charge. Fully informed or not, people are using their direct voices in the mediums of Facebook and Twitter, social media to try and force a result.
It is proving effect to date..
So now I shall ask.. if it is effective or even with the success it has already had, even with controversial facts behind it, will it provide the blueprint for the American people to utilize to take back control of our own country?
Shall we wonder why the government is pushing regulations upon the internet?
Now.. I think I need to take Wade's advice from yesterday and look for the positive wave to ride upon. 🤔
