Mario Williams played in a 3 - 4 last season, until he was injured. He played in five games, had five sacks. Two games with 2.0 sacks and one game with 1.0 sack. He sure started off just fine as an OLB in the 3 - 4.

Williams is a special athlete. Plus, OLBs don't turn and run with TEs as much as people think. The Cowboys rush DeMarcus Ware around 90% of the time. When he doesn't rush, he's usually dropping into zone. Of course, Dom Capers is more creative in how he uses guys, but any 3-4 team that grabs Williams probably uses Ware as the guideline.

For the record, I do agree that I like him with his hand on the ground more. However, some people seem to be overlooking just how special of a player he is. Frankly, I think his best football is ahead of him, which makes him rare commodity on the free agent market. He’s a better signing than Julius Peppers.

I don't want a guy like Williams that needs to rush 90% of the time. I want another guy like Matthews, that can play all over the field and not be predictable. I'll stand by what I say that Mario's a 4-3 DE not a 3-4 OLB.
