Until Scottie Wells signs a contract, I think Center is our top priority; and Konz from Wisconsin would look just fine to me.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Newhouse and Sherrod battle it out for LT next year in training camp. I would like to see Bulaga stay put at RT since he and Sitton play so well together.

I don't have a fricken clue what Capers wants to do on defense, but it seems to me we need a safety not named Charlie Peprah starting. OLB is crap shoot, taking one high in the draft doesn't equate to success, but the chances are better.

DE is an obvious need now that Jolly is in the big house. We should get a couple more years from Pickett, but we need to upgrade Wynn, Wilson, and Neal. Maybe a mid range free agent would get us buy.

I'll add though that 🇹🇹 will be drafting a WR because that's how he rolls.

IMO Packers need a defensive player who can pressure the QB as the first need to address in the draft.

I pick this guy
help Pack get a sack

tall guy that can generate some pressure...

Hah! Kevin definitely needs to break off that affair with Mrs. C. It's rotting his brain.

Herewith the reasoning:

1. Without an offensive line of quality, the odds that Rodgers gets knocked out of game(s) increase. If Rodgers gets knocked out for any significant time, the chance that the Packers go to the SuperBowl nosedives.
2. Without an offensive line of quality, one needs a Barry Sanders to have a meaningful running game. The Packers don't have a Barry Sanders.
2A. And even Barry Sanders got tackled behind a lot when he lacked an offensive line of quality (i.e., his entire NFL career, which also involved no trips to the SuperBowl.
3. Without a meaningful running game, you can't depend on keeping possession in the fourth quarter. If you can't depend on keeping possession in the fourth quarter, you can't depend on winning as many close games.
4. Without an offensive line of quality, you are more dependent on receivers separating quickly. The more dependent on receivers separating quickly you are, the more likely you will have more interceptions/incompletions/sacks when the quarterback has less time. Ergo, without an offensive line of quality, you are less likely to sustain drives and you are going to be able to make fewer big plays downfield.
etc.

Actually my refrain this year is a bit different:

OL DL OL DL OL.

If the best OL available is a LT, then draft LT. If best OL available isn't a LT, draft another OL position.

It doesn't matter what they played in college. It matters what they can play in a dominant way in the pros.

"1. 2. 3. Dominate!" -- Aaron Rodgers.

4 - The West Coast flavor resolves this easily. QB and WR on the same page = beat any blitz.

I'm not saying OL is not important, it is. But it's idiotic to use THREE consectivie first round picks on the Tackle position UNLESS you KNOW one of the previous two are FAIL or moving to a new position. By all means, if the Packers say example Derek (sp) Sherrod is going to be Guard, I'm down with a Tackle being selected in the first round.

Think of drafting a QB with first round selections back to back years. It's just stupid. Or you're admitting you screwed up with the first QB selection the preceding year. The Packers give their first round picks a few years to redeem themselves. Remember Justin Harrell?

So, unless Bryan Bulaga or Derek Sherrod (sp) are no longer Tackles, or retiring, or one is moving to Guard (or Center) or playing any position other than Tackle... using your first round draft pick on another Tackle is stupid. Unless you feel using a first round pick on a BACKUP Tackle is worthwhile. I'd almost reason with that concept. If the Tackle could play BOTH Tackle positions equally well.

Just want to make one thing clear - we're not WCO. We haven't been since 2007.

The game changed. WCO doesn't work any more because everyone adopted some kind of Tampa 2 to offset it. Yes, we have some WCO plays but so does everyone else. It's kind of like the old Gracie Jiu-Jitsu - everyone adopted parts of it but it's already outdated nowadays.

For the record though, our O is closer to Mike Martz's O for da Bears than it is to true WCO. We try to develop medium range to longer passing plays instead of the quick slants. When the CB gives our WRs too much cushion, 🇦🇷 throws it immediately to the WR and the WR tries to beat the initial tackle. If he does, it's a quick first down. If not, it's a 2 yard gain.

None of that stuff is WCO.

Just want to make one thing clear - NO ONE SAID THE PACKERS WERE WCO OR WEST COAST OFFENSE!

For the record though, nothing works forever. NFL = Not For Long, duh.

No team is 100% anything. NO team is pure Zone Blocking Scheme, no team is pure Power O, no team is pure 3 - 4, no team is pure 4 - 3, etc ... everyone knows this and no one is disputing otherwise so why YET ANOTHER tangent on things not being said? I swear, some of us just like hearing ourselves type.

Every team blends their own flavor of this an that. See how stupid one looks when jumping someones ass on something they didn't even say? Friendly my white boy wasted ass!!

On a more on topic an serious note ... Packers have Marshall Newhouse, Derek Sherrod and Bryan Bulaga, right? Are the latter two considered the Tackles of the future? Is Newhouse reliable enough for backing up either position?

Assuming Scott Wells gets resigned, because I don't see how he's not... do the Packers need to use a first round pick on a Guard? Josh Sitton is pretty good, right? Are we fans saying T.J. Lang failed to equal or better the mighty Daryn Colledge to the point the Packers have to use a first round selection on a Guard?

If the best available player is a OL, and that's whom the Packers take, I suppose I won't be too upset (they care deeply). I mean, if a Center is a 10 and the best Defensive End or Outside Linebacker is a 7 ... you gotta take the Center or Guard or Tackle, right?

I am hoping there's a stud DE or OLB or CB available as the best available ... I think DE and OLB is the biggest failing point for the Packers.

No argument here, everything starts with the lines, the OL and DL. The Packers DL is far more behind than the OL. A good offense can "hide" a poor OL where as a poor DL just exploited repeatedly by the pass and run.

I wanted to hear myself type so I rambled, you likey like? 🙂

I would rather take a stud DE and try and sign a pass rusher in free agency. I don't think we're getting a day one starter OLB at 28.

TJ Lang did just fine at LG, but we can always add a developmental player later in the draft.

If anything, we should trade up in round 1 and go get the top pass rusher, and if we tag and trade Flynn with our #1 - we might be able to pull that off ala Matt Hasselback.

Newhouse allowed the most sacks (10½) and pressures (41½) on the team.
Bulaga allowed the second-most pressures at 18.
