The main difference between last year and this year is Brett Favre. Injuries and how the ball bounces doesn't account for 4 more losses with 4 games left to play.

Don't drink the kool-aid and don't make excuses.

Hoarding it all for yourself eh? It's not the offense that is losing us games, nor the farts in the huddle.

Not a fluke. People seem to think we're so bad but don't realise that there was about 3-4 games it was lost by 4 pts. I mean we could of won titans vikings by field goald ... that would of put us 7-5 now ... Panthers and Falcons we're winnable too. I mean this team could of easily been 9-3 right now.

But assuming in experienc by rodgers and how the defense kept chocking on crucial moments we are unfortunently 5-7.

Watch out for this team next year !!!

This is a brillliant post.

I agree Chico has made some mistakes based on the fact the kid is playing his first year as a starter. HE WILL ONLY GET BETTER.

Throw in injuries... which the team did not have last year, and it all makes sense. The BOTTOM LINE IS THIS....

As Krazy typed: "Watch out for this team next year."

In addition, we did play the AFC west for 4 wins last year, talk about a weak ass division (Sorry RP).

There is not that much difference in a 10-6 team and a 6-10 team in this league. A couple of bounces this way or that, a couple of bad ref calls, or just playing a team at the right time.

I'm not going to classify last year as a fluke, but a strong argument could be made for some better luck last year vs. this year.

Against the Eagles, we couldn't run the ball, and we sucked at passing, too. There was no magical comeback drive. We punted, they dropped it, we recovered it, FAILED to move the ball after three attempts, and kicked a field goal.

Against the Redskins, Corey Williams strips a ball while they are completely mowing us over down the field...Charles picks it up, gets a beautiful key block by none other than Justin bustin' Harrell, and sir Charles scores the game winning TD...we hang on like snot to close out the game.

Against the Broncos, we were ahead late in the 4th quarter. Denver went through us like crap through a goose down to around the goal line. On 1st or 2nd down the Denver receiver ran a short route to the goal post...he was left open--wide open---Cutler threw it behind him, they settle for a field goal to tie, and Brett shucks one up in OT for the win.

Let's talk a moment about luck in one we lost last year. The Giants missed three field goals of less than 40 yards in that game. Green Bay won the toss in OT. Why do I bring that up? Well, those same luckless Giants to that point nailed a 47 yarder in Lambeau, in January. That would be the first time THAT ever happened. Their friggin' luck/karma/whatever has been pretty damn good since, if you don't believe me, just ask the Patriots.

I see.......Brett Favre plays defense?
Our offense has given us plenty of chances to win the 4 games. Fact is, our "special" teams and defense haven't been holding up their end of the bargan.
YOU are the one making "excuses". Wasn't it just a few years ago that this team was 4-12, WITH "Almighty Brett" at the helm? Why didn't HE "WILL" them into a better record? ANSWER: Because he's NOT all powerful as you seem to think he is.
If it's all him, why didn't we win the NFC title game in GREEN BAY last year?
You see......fact is.......EVERY year is different, even if you have most of the same players on the team. Favre here this year didn't guarentee us any better of a won-lost record then we have right now. In fact, it could even be worse then it is.
You can rant otherwise, but you have no proof that him being here would nean we would have a better record now.
It's ONLY your opinion, which has no more proof then mine does.

Last year was in many ways a fluke.. that is to win 13 games.. we won alot of games early and mid way through the season that were of the cardiac nature.. meaning they were games that could have gone either way.

But late in the season, we were hitting a pretty good stride and went into the playoffs with positive momentum.. we destroyed a good Seahawks team and got close against the Giants.. probably should have won that game.

But were we a 13 win team in the regular season.. on paper yes.. in reality in terms of merit.. we had a couple that were aided with luck or opponent assisted.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
