Not much went wrong for the Packers, but Rodgers’ lone interception of the game might have been prevented had tight end Jermichael Finley battled a little harder for the ball. On third-and-goal from the 4-yard line late in the second quarter, Finley had a one-on-one matchup against Raiders safety Mike Mitchell. The play had fade pass written all over it. Sure enough, Rodgers lofted the ball up for Finley, who at 6-foot-5, had 4 inches on Mitchell. But as the two went for the ball, Mitchell came up with it even though Finley had every chance to get his hands on it. The play was initially ruled incomplete because it appeared neither had control of the ball in the end zone as they tumbled out of bounds, but the Raiders challenged the play. Referee Pete Morelli overturned the call on the field and gave the Raiders the interception. That’s a play Finley should win every time.

Although it admittedly was not a great pass by Rodgers, considering it did hit Finley in the hands, it's hard to argue with Demovsky's point.

Okay, rewatching the play, the ball actually goes through Finley's hands and does hit him in the chest. Mitchell's arms are between Finley's so maybe that is why he couldn't get his hands on the ball, maybe not. Anyway, the defender could reach no higher than Finley's head. So if the ball would have been thrown higher he never could have reached it.

Yes, maybe Finley could have fought for it more, hard to say with how fast it happened and him falling backwards. I still fault (and love) 🇦🇷
