My biggest fear is that the Lions will come into Lambeau 0-15 and beat the Green Bay Packers.

We are not mathematically eliminated. But this team has shown me no reason to think they are capable of winning 4 games in a row.

I think part of the loss you have to blame on special teams, they gave up alot of yards yesterday, the last few minutes they needed to keep them at their 20 at least. You have a good q.b you don't give them good field position, the d-line very disappointing but there are injuries I would like them to win but playoffs I wouldn't want them too go and be one and done.

Special teams were disgraceful. I would say personally that is my biggest key to losing yesterday. You give a good team the ball at half field. Come on...

ST were good earlier in the year. I wonder if depth issues because of injuries has really affected it that much, or have we just regressed?

I don't want this team in the playoffs. I used to argue with Depack and Pyle about this all the time. I don't want a very marginal Packer team to even go to the playoffs because I don't think they should be there. I don't think any of the NFC north teams are good enough to be in the playoffs.

Our team cannot stop the run or rush the passer. We also cannot run the ball effectively. Most of our downfall this year is connected with injuries mainly Cullen Jenkins and Scott Wells has not been 100%. With Cullen out, teams are running at will on us.

I don't want us to tank, but I am really looking forward to the draft.

The bottom line as far as the playoffs go we still definately have a shot because of our 3-1 Division record and the Vikes and Chicago both with two losses.
The Vikes have some very tough games down the stretch (@Arizona, Atlanta, Giants) and if we beat the Bears again I can see all three at 9-7 but with us having the advantage of a 5-1 Division record.

As far as DOING anything in the playoffs I go back and forth there. Some how we have to get a pass rush going or we will be out quick.

On the other hand we have played definate playoff teams like the Titans and Panthers right down to the wire so it's not like we cannot compete with those teams either.

First getting there, however, could very well come down to the Packer/Bears game.

MM was right a week or two ago, that this team is consistent in the fact that they are in most ballgames and we are doing that on pure talent.

We are not a disciplined consistent team in our focus and execution on the field, there he is wrong.

Don't mistake this as being negative, it is being a realist at this point.

This roster has been revamped with solid talent and depth.. we have the talent on this team to compete with just about anyone in this league.. I honestly believe that..

For me.. it comes down to accountability, leadership and coaching at this point.. and those two items go hand and hand.. by there play on the field and the amount of silly and sometimes repeat mistakes, we are doing a sub par job in holding a few of these players accountable for there lack of showing on Sundays.

MM tells us each week that we have a good week of practice.. well then someplace either the practice talk is bullshit or this coaching staff can't get this team to transfer that to Sundays. To me, that either means that our game plans are weak or this coaching staff is not being honest with themselves and changes are needed, either in the staff or in the lineup.

Why ramble on, simply this.

If this team can't come to terms with the issues at hand, be it players of coaching staff, address them quickly and patch the root problems, playoffs or not, we aren't going to fullfill the potential this team had.

Injuries hurt this team, I agree, but I cannot give them a free pass on that alone either. Lets look at the Giants for just a second.. they have lost two impact players on the defensive line, a above average LBer, and solid safety, a Pro Bowl TE, and for most of the year there best WR... and they have hardly missed a beat.

Simply put, we are not a team yet that plays sound mental football with enough passion to carry us through.. we have work to do yet to take that next step.

Personally, the wake up call was a few weeks ago.. we have failed to this point to address the root issues.. so to that point.. we are not and probably should not be in the playoffs.. this team needs to find a leader on the defense that will hold the others accountable and take the reins on the field.. Rodgers is driving the bus on the offense.. we are missing that element on defense.

Maybe it is time then to start putting more veteran free agents on the team instead of having so many 1-3 year players. I think there is a balance there that we are lacking in.

As much as I admire your optimism even we somehow got into the playoffs we'd be eliminated in the 1st round. This team is just too inconsistent we have a hard time winning 2 games in a row. What makes anyone think we can go far into the playoffs with the way this team is playing right now?
