Sacks are great but not worth much unless they happen on 3rd down. We need to reign in any momentum shifting special teams plays, keep a watchful eye on Forte, and hopefully force a few "Cutlers" (another name for Cutler-esque boneheaded throws). Offensively, a balanced attack is always the best way to beat Chicago. Grant/Starks (or Starks/Grant, since their order is of utmost significance to some on these boards) need to pound dat ... rock. Get Finley involved to stretch that pesky Cover 2. Keep Rodgers relatively safe from Peppers and Co.

Should be a frustrating game, as it always is against the Bears. But Green Bay is gonna win this one.

Martz is going to go after Peprah all day,

^this is the key^

deep passes on our FS is going to leave Cutler available to a decent pass rush, AND they are without Carimi which makes this scenario even better for us [aiee]

That doesn't mean that screens and slants aren't or can't be effective -- or that the Bears solely run a Tampa 2. It does mean, I think, that Green Bay needs to vary their level of attack. One way to really hurt a Tampa 2 is to use the TE up the seam -- much like how Green Bay used Finley when they played in the early part of last season. But you can't throw downfield every play, obviously, so they need to run a variable of routes that develop at different levels of the defense. And of course, get the run game going.

Going to be an interesting match-up. Lovie is already having his talks with Martz after this weekend about their play call balance. So I would expect to see more carries from Forte than what they did against the Saints. Glad our run D is looking better. Forte is the key, the kid is over 50% of their offensive production. Don't know if we can get away with something like Woodson spying on him all game and let Shields run with Hester with safety over the top and Tramon lock down Roy Boy/Knox. And with the situation the Bears are trudging through with their OL, I will be extremely disappointed if we don't keep Cutler's average of being sacked 5+ times going.

I don't see many quick throws coming from Cutler except for the little bubble screens they do to Hester as their offense isn't built for that kind of attack and their receivers in particular cannot get off bump and run coverage worth a damn. The Martz receiving route tree isn't worth a damn if the ball has to come out quick. Lets get in their face and pressure them from the first snap through our victory formation.

I agree with Tezzy, except for the second part. My prediction is that this is the week where we see Chicago come to reality with the craptasticness of their offensive line. Two weeks in and Cutler is taking a beating. They WILL scheme quicker developing plays into their gameplan. Not sure whether they will be effective, though. I also might be the only person that thinks the Bears have good depth at WR. That doesn't mean they have anyone particularly good, but there's nice balance at having a burner (Knox), a couple of good possession guys (Williams and Bennett). Forte is functionally a receiver based on how many freaking catches he gets.

It will be interesting to see how Capers/Martz round 4 goes.

And yes, you may be the only person that thinks they have good depth at WR. Only team that I think has worse depth is the Broncos since they needed Tebow to play wideout this weekend since they were down to two receivers active after an injury happened.

Looking at the Bears receiving core, they are a bunch of 6s, again using my arbitrary ranking system. But that's depth. No one is great, but there is very little difference in overall ability between Knox, Williams, Bennett, and Sanzenbacher. Most teams want to have that true #1, but are lucky to have anyone competent playing the #4 WR spot. The Bears have that competency. Totally unflashy, ultimately mediocre ... but relatively deep, and with complimentary skillsets (possession guys, speed guys, slot guys).
