Yes, I'm still surprised we let Jenkins go, considering what he got from the Eagles. I heard that they can cut him after this season and suffer no financial implications? If that's the case, his manageable salary would have been well worth it. I haven't spent enough time looking at the details of his deal, but it does seem like it would have been worth it. Although perhaps it may have affected the resigning of other players this season, but I still find that somewhat hard to believe. I think our pass rush will struggle all season, unless So'oto turns into a great player immediately. It will be rough to witness a QBs sitting comfortably in the pocket at times throughout the season. CM3 and Raji can only do so much. We better hope Neal can make it back in a month or so and be a factor, or a lot of pressure is going to be on our offense.

I don't believe in "injury prone". The sample size is far too small, and the potential confounding variables too many, to ever make such a claim.

On the other hand, I have to be mildly bemused by those who thought it just fine to not keep Cullen Jenkins because of *his* injury history, but remain largely silent on the continued injuries of his replacement who hasn't shown anything like what Cullen Jenkins had shown.

He is a beast and I wish he was still a Packer. I hope Neal can get on the field this year and Wynn continues to play well.

From Packers.com this is what they mention.

2006: Turf Toe (9 games played)
2007: (all 13 games played)
2008: (all 12 games played)
2009: (all 12 games played)

When finally receiving the chance to start the past two seasons, he accumulated 68 tackles, 21.5 for loss and 11 sacks.

Neal's injury history prompted coach Joe Tiller to call Neal "a tease" during spring 2008 practices, but Neal's toughness won't be questioned by scouts, as the former top Indiana high school recruit played through a torn labrum the last three games of 2007 and fought constant double-teams as a senior. His inconsistent motor and use of his brute strength to disengage from blocks won't impress scouts, but his general athleticism will earn him a spot somewhere in the middle third of the draft.

NOTE....Rehabbed from knee surgery.....same knee maybe ?:-k

Edit, Packers turned down hometown discount, Cullen Jenkins expects to go  or maybe not, lol. I swear I read somewhere that he was offered more money by the Packers and something was said about him turning it down because they waited too long to make an offer.

First of all, this happened in a NON-CONTACT drill.
Second of all, he himself SAID that there was nothing wrong with it at all.
Now he's having mf'ing surgery on it? wtf.
Dude's officially on my "dislike" list.
Note also that Mike McCarthy used the word "significant" when referring to the amount of time he could miss. That's MM's buzzword.

But seriously guys, Neal may never play another down. Physically he'll likely recover; but mentally? How can anyone come back from the shame of being added to Nerdmann's "dislike" list? For an answer to that we'll have to ask the other members of his list, namely "reason" and "sensibility."

William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Still, I think the pass rush could be quite good even without Jenkins or Neal. It was pretty good late last season when Jenkins was hurt, and in game one against the Saints, the pass rush was decent against one of the best O-lines in the league. Wynn had an especially nice game.

something to note,

this puts Pickett and Raji as our 2 DTs in nickle.

I am reaaaly not a fan of seeing Pickett on the field in any passing situation8-[

I think it is premature to call him injury prone.

I just hope he can get healthy and stay that way. It worries me that he was injured in a non contact drill...I wonder if the surgery was NEEDED?
