First of all, this happened in a NON-CONTACT drill.
Second of all, he himself SAID that there was nothing wrong with it at all.
Now he's having mf'ing surgery on it? wtf.
Dude's officially on my "dislike" list.
Note also that MM used the word "significant" when referring to the amount of time he could miss. That's MM's buzzword.

Hmm, I'm not too sure myself on his injury history. I thought we had a thread that mentioned three years in college he missed several games or something like that.

Thinking more about it, I asked myself, if it was Aaron Rodgers, what would I consider a significant amount of time be? I'd say 4 weeks would classify as a significant amount of time. Can we do that? Can we change our interpretation of a word depending on the player?

I say Mike Neal is back for the Atlanta Falcons game. OMG, it's AT Atlanta, AGAIN!!

I would think that a "significant" amount of time would be at least a couple of games, but if it was going to be half the season or more, I would expect them to put him on IR. Even if they don't do that right away, it doesn't mean they won't, though. They might be waiting to see how well he recovers from the surgery.

Ted has shown in the past that he is pretty much on top of things, if there was a player available who he thinks could take Neals spot, I would think he would IR Neal and bring that player in.

If he has the possibility of being healthy for the 2nd half of the season or so for a playoff and/or super bowl run, then absolutely give him a chance. However, if the medical staff and coaches feel it is a huge stretch to expect him to be very effective, IR him. Who knows, even if he didn't come back until week 12ish and played pretty well for the remainder of the season and throughout the playoffs, I would have to think it would be worth it.

I don't believe in "injury prone". The sample size is far too small, and the potential confounding variables too many, to ever make such a claim.

On the other hand, I have to be mildly bemused by those who thought it just fine to not keep Cullen Jenkins because of *his* injury history, but remain largely silent on the continued injuries of his replacement who hasn't shown anything like what Cullen Jenkins had shown.

And IIRC, in fact showed no more in his limited time during his first two years than Jenkins showed in his when he was an unheralded free agent.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
