My point was they know more about Patrick Lee and it's certain he won't be come much. They don't have that certainty with Gordy.

If you know a player isn't going to succeed, you don't keep him because of some saying about the grass not being greener on the other side or what ever. This is for a 5th or 6th spot on the depth chart. This is where you take the chances on the unknown. It's how you find good players. Sam Shields?

Josh Gordy, played in 2 games since coming into the league in 2010.
Pat Lee, played in 16 games since coming into the league in 2008. (IR'd in 2009)

Again, I feel they know more about Pat Lee than Josh Gordy.
Again, I believe the Packers feel Pat Lee has peaked and they won't get more out of him.
Again, I don't feel they know enough about Josh Gordy to make that same statement.

I'm sure as hell not saying Josh Gordy is the next Sam Shields or Al Harris or Charles Woodson or Tramon Williams. I'm just saying, they do not have the same amount of information on him as they do Pat Lee and perhaps they keep Josh Gordy because they feel his ceiling could be higher than that of Pat Lee.

Hell, maybe the feel they opposite, that Gordy has peaked and Lee has shown them something that says he might stay healthy and reach his potential which is higher than I feel it is?

As for Pat Lee looking good against the Chiefs, others have said this after I did as well, but he was in the right place at the right time. One could argue, that's worked great for Darren Sharper. 🤷

Since your claiming you didn't imply it then what was your reasoning for adding "Sam Shields?" to the end of this when you were talking about 5th or 6th spot?

We once had a QB throw a lot of INTs. He took chances. Packers have a lot of good players. Brett Favre?

I'm not implying ether...

It was silly to take a guy with less of a leg and the same type of issues and think somehow he was going to be better than what you had in place. Sure Frost was noted as a directional kicker, but he also had control issues prior to the Packers.

And it backfired on them.. however they did solve it the next offseason with bringing in multiple guys and selecting one.

I wasn't pissed about letting Jon Ryan go. I was more pissed about forcing him to change how he approaches kicking/punting. I feel kickers and punters are strange guys and you should let them do whatever works for them, rather than forcing them to change.

QB's I had right
RB's I had 4, wrong, Brandon Saine cut to 3
FB's I had 2, wrong, Quinn Johnson traded to 1.
WR's I had 6, wrong, Tori Gurley cut to 5.
TE's I had 3, wrong, Tom Crabtree and D.J. Williams kept to 5.
OL I had 9, wrong, Caleb Schlauderaff traded, Nick McDonald cut to 8
DL I had right
LB I had 8, wrong, Elijah Joseph cut, Brad Jones, Robert Francois and Jamari Lattimore kept to 10.
CB's I had 6, Pat Lee kept, Josh Gordy cut to stay at 6.
S's I had right
K, I had right
P, I had right
LS, I had wrong, Brett Goode kept but so was Evan Dietrich-Smith

QB, DL, S, K and P are all I had right and those surely were the easiest to predict.

Ted Thompson, I am not! lol
