I've been inspired. This list probably won't shock anyone.

I went with 9 OL instead of the normal 10, because I took Evan for my long snapper because he can play on the OL too.

I think the Packers can sneak Ryan Taylor on to the Practice Squad.

It was tough choosing between Gurley and West. I like Gurley's size and hands and went anti Al Davis and didn't take the faster West.

If the Packers can't put Graham Harrell on the Practice Squad, then they'll use a draft pick next year in rounds 3 through 6 on a QB. I believe this next years draft is gonna have a lot of QB's, right? So, my thinking is, draft a guy with talent and you won't miss a beat. And they don't move Matt Flynn and they'll extend him during the season for 2 years.

This will be Quinn Johnson's last chance.

Anyhow, here's my 53.

Offense [26]
• QB:(2) Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn
  • RB:(4) Ryan Grant, James Starks, Alex Green, Brandon Saine
    FB:(2) John Kuhn, Quinn Johnson
WR:(6) Greg Jennings, James Jones, Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Tori Gurley
TE:(3) Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless, D.J. Williams
OL:(9) Chad Clifton, T.J. Lang, Scott Wells, Josh Sitton, Bryan Bulaga, Derek Sherrod, Nick McDonald, Marshall Newhouse, Caleb Schlauderaff
Defense [24]
• DL: (6) Ryan Pickett, B.J. Raji, Mike Neal, Howard Green, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn
  • LB: (8) Clay Matthews, A.J. Hawk, Desmond Bishop, Frank Zombo, Erik Walden, D.J. Smith, Vic So'oto, Elijah Joseph
CB: (6) Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Davon House, Jarrett Bush, Josh Gordy
S: (4) Nick Collins, Morgan Burnett, Charlie Peprah, M.D. Jennings
Special Teams [3]
• K: Mason Crosby
  • P: Tim Masthay
    LS: Evan Dietrich-Smith
If Shawn can get the game up for us tonight, I will be revisiting this after watching the youngsters play more.

I guess we can expect about 20 "My 53" threads to begin.. in place of just a single thread with multiple lists. [grin1]

BTW.. I will be creating my thread later this evening.. :-"

So, if others want to take the time to throw 53 players together and get others opinions on it, so be it. It's better than copying and pasting articles from over the internet.

I like separate threads for roster predictions. One big thread can get to be too big of a mess.

I have a lot of questions about this list, beginning with this: Why on earth would Evan Dietrich-Smith be the long snapper? The Packers already have a long snapper, Brett Goode, who does a perfectly fine job and has for the past couple of years.

Also, I'm not sure what Brandon Saine and Elijah Joseph are doing on your roster. These guys have barely played in the preseason. I don't think Lawrence Guy has played at all. What makes you think these guys are good enough to make the team? I would replace them with Ryan Taylor, Vic So'oto, and Jarius Wynn.

Zero - I think your 53 is a heck of a lot more accurate than Nerd's. I'm pretty close to what you're predicting, especially the 6 WRs, 3 TEs part. I find his 5 WRs, 5 TEs absolutely absurd. Do we want a slow team with no WR depth? My word. Do you think 🇹🇹 has forgotten the horrors of 2005? I think not.

We are a passing team. We need receivers, not half-receivers half-blockers.

I also like the 10 DBs. Not saying it has to be 6 CBs and 4 Ss, but that would make sense I guess. We won't go into 2011 with 9 DBs though.

As for separate threads for each 53, needs to be done. Not meaning to slam Nerdmann here. He put in a lot of effort into it and I have respect for anyone willing to do that much work, whether I agree with them or not. I know I can't put up a 53.

I really want to see Pack93z's though. Pack93z - is yours ready?

Anyway.. if I can weasel enough time out today to put together my list.. I will provide feedback to the other 53 threads. Without doing the exercise for oneself, making those final 51st, 52nd and 53rd pick on the roster and how it affects counts at positions.. it is hard to really complete your thoughts. At least for my happy ass.

The only two that I would strongly disagree with here are the omissions of Harrell, and Goode.

For Harrel, I think if the packers think he'll make a similar leap next year that he has this year, there is absolutely NO way you let the guy walk. I agree they'll likely draft a QB, but that will be to compete with Harrel, not replace him. He will play a lot tonight, if he does well, he makes the team.

Goode; from what I understand, longsnapper is a very different position than center, which is why virtually all teams in the league carry a dedicated spot for it. In addition to that, the last thing our special team's unit needs is to throw a wrench in the consistency that is: Goode, Mathis and Crosby.

So who would I drop to fill these spots?

    1. MD jennings, Bush can fill in as a #4 Safety, Jennings looks more like a PS candidate to me.
    2. Saine, again, PS candidate.

    Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
