Anyword on Wilson's injury as of yet? Hope it's not too terrible definitely gonna need him in the rotation. Also being down in Florida has prevented me from hearing the latest on Mike Neal, what sort of injury happened exactly?

Thanks to everyone who watched the game and commented. Didn't see it.

Some questions:
1) How would you rate our OL for pass protection?
2) How would you rate our OL for run blocking?
3) Is Aaron locking in on Finley too much?

Thanks in advance.

These comments and some of the other comments about our OL bother me. Will our OL be ready by Sept 8? I still think our major flaw is our OL. I don't care how many SBs we win, I still reserve the Right to bitch about our OL until we start seeing entire games where Aaron walks away with a clean jersey.

The run game is gonna be awesome, especially if they get get Green going on screens. That dude is masterful off his blockers and has speed to take it the distance. Also showed power up the middle on the TD. Grant as usual was breaking into the open field, then cutting into his own blockers. He looks like he's back up to speed as far as the old Ryan Grant, but sometimes it seems like he's blindfolded out there.
Aaron wasn't locking in on Finley, but he did seem to force a couple throws to Jennings.
To answer some other questions, Neal fell and lightly sprained his knee on non-contact this week, so was held out as a precaution, CJ Wilson was held out do to a possible slight concussion. He'll likely be fine.
Once again, MD Jennings showed up in the backfield. Could be another Charlie Peprah out there. And of course the 97 yard play by Chastin West. He looked like Robert Brooks on that play. Remember that 99 yarder Brooks had against the Bears? Flynn hit him right in stride. It was one of those sure TDs that Jones misses. Over the shoulder catch.

Neal could be 1-4 weeks from what I've read. However i think Mike McCarthy has been saying "day to day" so hopefully its not very serious.

IMO.. The offensive line looks like this to me at this point.
Tackle
Clifton, Bulaga, Sherrod, Newhouse (Played a nice game overall.. nice bounce back)
Dominguez (too talented IMO not to keep him)

Inside is the concern right now... I think we could drop one of the above inside if need be.
Guard
Lang, Sitton

Center
Wells
EDS as a G/C combo?

McDonald IMO has been disappointing so far..

Genus.. love his guys build for inside play.. short compact and stout.. could he make a run at a roster spot.

I remember last year when standing still Campbell looked like a heavy footed slow road graded but played like a soft (bad) dancing bear (good). He moved crazy well for a guy his size, but just didn't seem willing to be physical or mean though looked the part.

Also after hearing so many good things about Newhouse in early training camp I'm surprised they haven't tried him at OG. He's got the size of a OG.

So you'd keep EDS over McD? That's disappointing to hear... McD had/has potential...

also agree with you about Genus. I could help but think he's a lock for the PS after reading up on him some. But that was just a guess. I was thinking it's gonna be hard to make the roster with no mini camp for them.

I think Lang has regressed during his time in Green Bay.. his footwork was better coming out of college than now.. a theme I have noted under Campen for a number of years. IMO.. Campen is the weak link of the coaching staff.. by a mile.

I think he was having a huge problem with the logic behind the system on D. On O he's not having that problem because it's his system and his logic...

Also is it just Campen? Isn't Offensive Coordinator Joe Philbin a former OL coach and in charge of the running plays and suppose to be working very closely with Campen and the OL?

As for players regressing during their time in GB... I was saying the same thing about LB coach Winston Moss players until Bishop busted out. But Hawk and Chillar regressed during their times with the Packers compared to their time before the Packers. I think Barnett stayed about the same, just his weak areas showed up a lot more when they switched to the 3-4. And he had a couple of players with good potential that seemed to not improve any or got worse. Until Bishop broke out.

Serviceable should not be sufficient for a team seeking to repeat.

(Aside to zombieslayer: I'm not saying that the Super Bowl entitles the Packer brain trust to be immune from criticism re the OL; only that I'll give them the preseason to get their act together. Of course it helps that I haven't seen more than a couple series so far, so I have no basis for opining and gnashing of teeth anyway. Yet.)

It also got us a quarterback with two concussions in a single season. That is worrisome, no matter how the Super Bowl worked out in the end.

Zero2Cool (13h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (14h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
