Yes, most definitely. I was pretty sleepy after lunch, so I downed a 5 Hour Energy drink ... and now I get this news... I'm more wired than a teenage boy in a girls locker room during shower time.

Holy freaking awesome! I just received notification that if I want the Boardwalk place, it's mine. How the hell did I beat out 10 other people??

This means Keiana is going to be attending one of the best schools in Colorado.

The place on Boardwalk won't be available until August 15th. I have to be out by July 31st.

I'm flying to Wisconsin August 12th and won't be back (with Keiana) until August 16th. So, basically I would have to find a place to stay for 11 nights and store my crap somewhere for more than two weeks.

I've tried to believe that everything happens for a reason, but at times, it gets rough.

The lady who owns the place on Boardwalk told me to view the ad again because she updated it to reflect the August 15th move in date. While doing so, I found another place on Boardwalk. This one is $25 more a month and has an attached garage, but does not face the mountains. If I were to take it, it's available immediately.

I've emailed the owner, called their business and cell phone. Messages on each.

I've also asked my current landlord if I could stay there for an extra 11 days if I paid for 15 days of rent.

I absolutely hate moving.

Or you could come up here to Paradise and dump off the Uhaul. I like to piss of my neighbors.

A variation: Rent a U-Stor-It (or whatever they call those self-storage places) for a month (or two). Then either (A) park the fully-loaded UHaul up in it until you get back, or (B) unload the UHaul in it and then, when you get back, rent another UHaul for the stuff that doesn't fit in the car (your king-size Playboy bed and 79" TV and your gas grill, etc.) The other stuff then move in gradually over weekends in the car. B might save a bit of cash (how much does a 11-day local rental of a UHaul run?), but it depends on just how much stuff you have to move. Me and my several thousand books, I'd have to do A; but if you are light on the heavy and big possessions, then B.

Methinks Dakota is just looking for material to build another dike.

Renting a moving truck (uhaul, penske, budget) is about $60 per day on top of the other fees.

To have the truck from July 31st to August 1st.
Penske - 451
Uhaul - 207 plus mileage
Budget - 340

If I get a uhaul, load it up and put my stuff in a storage unit the same day, the uhaul only costs. $29.95 plus $0.79/mile.

I figure a storage unit would run me about $100 for the month.

Hotel would run about $400 for the two weeks.

400 hotel
120 storage for a month
100 moving truck, twice.

Figure about 620 is the cheapest I'm figuring this.

Then there's the problem of not having anywhere to sleep when we get back from Wisconsin because I won't have the hotel, or key to the new place, lol. I LOVE IT!!!

I've told the owner of F33 (3rd floor) that if I move in August 15th, I'll accept that if they let me have the month of August free. If they let me do this, money won't be a problem because I can simply get a hotel the night Keiana and I come back.
