At least the landlord replaced your AC. Most would not do that. They would make you live with the problem. At least most landlords i have known are like that.

It may very well be just that. All I know, the smell is not pleasant at all, haha.

Prior to signing the lease, I made it clear a working A/C was a requirement, as was DirecTV satellite installation. She says they have the new ones in and should have it replaced today or tomorrow. I'll have something to look forward to when I come "home". 🙂

That's why you get it put into the lease that the AC must be operational, and you refuse to sign the lease until the landlord agrees. Signing a lease is a negotiation, not a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
