Dang Jim, I really hope that it turns out the best possible.
I have nephew that has MS and though I am not sure as to the type, he has lived with it fairly well for over 20 years. I do know that he is on medication for it.
And once and awhile he has some tough days, but for the most part it has not greatly affected living his life.
You have had more than your share of adversity my friend.
But I do ask one thing, feel free to share you thoughts/rants or whatever on this ....either here or in a PM, whatever works for you.
I was raised that you held your feelings to yourself and did not discuss problems. That was the one area that my parents were wrong.
For one of the things that I have learned in my many years, is that the old adage that real men don't discuss feelings/problems is bullshit.
