Even prior to the losing streak, you could see some of the difficulties that have become full blown at this point. And almost all of them are happening before or within 2 seconds of the ball being snapped.

1. Offensive line is still having difficulties picking up blitz reads. And the frequency of getting blitzed at a higher rate because....

2. The WR group are getting pressed and are struggling to get loose of it. They lack speed and quickness so defenses are not scared of getting beat over the top, and the Packer wides are not using their hands effectively to get off the initial bump. Cobb still looks hurt, and Jones and Adams are getting stuffed. Abby looked wiry enough to get loose... but he lacks all kinds of strength to combat. But the coaching staff hasn't done enough.....

3. Presnap movement and stacking to help create separation for the WR to get loose. Get a few yards to get some artificial spacing to at least give us some short windows. With teams adding pressure, flip more to the screens... late yesterday it proved effective. I really think we are hurting ourselves in the play calling department.

4. We are getting out coached at this point.. Oline is still the same, lacking effective schemes to pickup pressure. Been there since 2008 or so... at times poor techniques being deployed.

5. We simply struggle at running the ball again.. and at this point are basically ignoring it all together again. Cycles 1 through 4 again.

And that is just the offense.

And most that know me from the tenure here... I am not a QB fan.. any QB. But something is wrong with Rodgers at this point... I tend to think it physical but I think it has tainted his mental approach to the game at this point. But his mechanics are just plain off at this point.. doesn't want to run... not stepping into this throws and throwing off his back heel often.

I think the Rodgers thing is 100% mental and he needs to get out of his funk before he becomes daunte Culpepper

When you allow the team to play this way for 2 quarters in every game just because "they win anyway," this is what you get.

This, and last January.

Ultimately, most quarterbacks need good offensive line play to be successful. Rodgers has bailed out poor-to-average offensive lines his entire career. In fact, he's bailed out average teams his entire career other than a good receiving core for a few years.

It all seems pretty simple to me. If a team has poor offensive line play and almost no running game, most quarterbacks will struggle. I'm not absolving Rodgers of any blame here. He hasn't played very well and he is responsible for that. But if the Packers want to mitigate the situation, they need to establish a running game and manufacture some decent offensive line play, just like Wade always pushes for. It's foundational to playing winning football. I think it's mostly that simple. If the Packers can have some success running the ball and pass blocking, the entire dynamic of the team improves. Without that improvement, they will continue to struggle. It's not rocket science.

I agree with all of your points, but I think in addition to this, teams have employed a specific strategy against Rodgers and these receivers.

They play a lot of 1 safety over the top, and have their corners play extremely aggressive man, including grabbing constantly and doing whatever they need to do to prevent separation and throw off the timing. Then they just rush 5+ against our oddly struggling O-line, and it's all over. Who cares if you get 3 D holding or PI penalties in a game if you can disrupt the passing game so much? They're not going to call it even close to every time. Rodgers needs to overcome this, but it seems to have really rattled him... well that and the hits he's taken.

The receivers needs to be more physical. They're just jogging around out there and allowing people to hold onto them.

The offense also needs to use more bunch formations, crossing routes and screen plays.

I feel like the Packers WRs used to be pretty good against it, back when we had Al Harris (and some others) who would run it against them in practice, but in recent years they're been down right horrible when DBs are allowed to start getting more physical in the route running... there are a lot of little things I feel like they could use, that they either don't use or don't know... and some coach needs to be teaching that to them.

Also everyone has complained about the play caller and that being the problem... (and maybe that is a problem).... but very few have talked/complained about the QB/WR coach being the same coach... might need to split them up again and have a different coach for each. Having the same coach, in theory should bring them more together... but this year they're been on different pages more than ever... so maybe it's brought them apart somehow... with neither getting as much direct coaching as they need.... Rodgers has said he wanted to be coached (which sounds like it's implying he's not being coached).

Zero2Cool (23h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
