None of them were arrested. I find that interesting especially the guy yelling that they can't forcibly remove them unless they're arresting them. I've never heard of that before but there's a lot I've never heard of.

I know they weren't arrested because I know the second guy being dragged in the video (the one on his knees). He's been at the capitol throughout all the protests constantly feeding people information through his Facebook.

Scott Walker is a tool of the Republican Party & the Koch brothers. Has anyone noticed that all of this union busting is happening in northern states? The Republicans got the southern states with the God Guns and Abortion Red Herring and are now trying to bust up the unions in the northern states to take political contributions from the only organizations that fully support the Dems, Labor.

The top 400 INDIVIDUALS in this country control more wealth than 55% of the FAMILIES. The new Gilded Age is upon us, check out what happened after the last.

As long as the voters continue to believe that big business and government have their best interests at heart we will continue to see these kind of attacks on the already endangered middle class.

It's more of a "big picture" thing, small steps with one very large outcome.

I've only heard rumors on some blogs or other places online, can't find a link to confirm...but supposedly he gave his appointees 5% raises when he got in office. He and his cronies are some of, if not THE highest paid public workers, WI taxpayers pay $250/year for his mansion on Lake Mendota, and I read that he was in Milwaukee, LaCrosse, and Wausau today, could be wrong, but point is, who is paying for him to galavant throughout the state, pay for his meals, gas, and a few hand jobs along the way? The tax payers admist the non-negotiable budget crisis that "everyone" is in.

As dingus said, this is all a political scheme. On a large scale, this eliminates one of the only coordinated political supporters for the democrats (unions). Then for Walker, by eliminating unions and giving cities millions in less state funding he forces cities to cut their recycling programs, fire employees, cut off extracurricular academic activities, programs, increase class sizes, and layoff teachers. This way "It's not my fault, I gave "the tools" to the cities to do as they wish" when he comes up for re-election and has to face questions about declining test scores and public education, and public job losses.

Didn't Walker give back some of his pay when he worked for Milwaukee County?
Yet he's being attacked as a bad guy. He gave back his own money. And he sure didn't have to.
And "Michael Moore". How many millions has he made with his B.S. movies? He's one of the rich guys, isn't he? So who is he to bitch and moan?
And listing the top 20 richest people in America......how does that somehow disallow what i said about rich Hollywood types?
I also keep hearing how the cuts are attacking all of the "middle class". How exactly? It affects public workers, for sure. But it's not like it makes them work for minimum wage with no benefits, does it?
And calling him a "dictator". He said what he was gonna do before he got elected, and now is (unlike most politicians) DOING what he said he was gonna do. The majority of Wisconsinites stand with him. But the minority shows up at the capital, (along with Jesse "i never met a microphone i didn't like") Jackson, they make a big fuss, and they get all the liberal media eatting out of their hands.
In the past, when the democrats had control, they pushed through what THEY wanted. Yet the republicans never ran away and hid. They STILL did their jobs.....unlike the 14 dem senators that hid out in Illinois.
Look at ex-governor Doyle. Over and over, the people of Wisconsin let him know they wanted a concealed gun carry law passed. Yet he (as a TRUE dictator) wouldn't do what the majority of Wisconsinites wanted.
Always ignoring the FACT that the BAD GUYS, you know, the ones you don't want carrying guns, ARE ALREADY CARRYING. It would allow lab-abiding citizens to carry.
But hey, Doyle always did what HE wanted, not what thye people wanted.

The state budget needs to be balanced. Walker is the FIRST one actually trying to do so.
It's about time.

Well, if anyone paid attention to what I say on this, you'd realize that mine is the absolutely crushing argument, and you'd start ignoring both democrats and republicans.

I guess some are happy with the "same old same old" and don't ever want the state to be debt free.
They have that right, i guess.

I agree with you wade, government in general is not to be trusted but I'd have to say that Dems at least pretend to give a shit about the lower classes.

This incarnation of the republican party has not one iota of a connection to the party of Barry Goldwater or Richard Nixon. These people make Reagan look like a moderate and, IMO, the assault on the middle class started with him. "Obamacare" is basically the same idea that Bob Dole offered up for his health care plan when he ran against Clinton. History doesn't go away just because we choose not to learn or remember it.

But thank God Newt Gingrich converted to Catholicism and has come to accept that his devotion to his country led to his infidelity, when the rubes vote for him in 2012 we can rest assured that it will never happen again!

Cheesey-
Scott Walker did not run on union busting, which is all this little power grab was. And the polls show overwhelmingly that this is NOT what the people of Wisconsin want.

Heres a little quote from Schultz, The lone negative Republican Senator:

"As someone who as spent the better part of the last four weeks working toward and hoping for a compromise, this is a difficult night.

Ive had the honor and privilege of representing folks in Southwest and South Central Wisconsin for 28 years, and where I come from compromise isnt a dirty word.

Ive received tens of thousands of emails, thousands of phone calls and letters, and spent hours meeting with thousands of citizens in my district. Ive heard personal and heartfelt stories of friends and neighbors, and they ask for just two things.

First, be inclusive by listening and working with your colleagues on both sides of the aisle to reach a compromise which addresses our fiscal crisis. Second, public employees are willing to make sacrifices on things like wages and benefits, but we need to preserve collective bargaining as a tool which has helped keep labor peace in this state for decades.

Ultimately, I voted my conscience which I feel reflects the core beliefs of the majority of voters who sent me here to represent them.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the days ahead as we now need to join together to work through what promises to be a difficult budget."

I'd love to see this, or see how he's making any personal consessions right now. Please provide some evidence. I at least acknowledged that I couldn't prove he gave himself and his cronies 5% raises, merely rumors.

And calling him a "dictator". He said what he was gonna do before he got elected, and now is (unlike most politicians) DOING what he said he was gonna do.

Can you find an article/quote/clip or anything from his campaign where he stated he would abolish unions?

I also keep hearing how the cuts are attacking all of the "middle class". How exactly? It affects public workers, for sure. But it's not like it makes them work for minimum wage with no benefits, does it?

When the 1.5 +billion in tax cuts hits universities, public schools, and cities, I'm sure there will be a lot of people holding pink slips who would love to work for minimum wage.

The majority of Wisconsinites stand with him. But the minority shows up at the capital

Polls, though flawed, are the only way to quanify this statement. If you're going to make this claim, please support it with some evidence that shows the majority favors abolishing unions, or even opinion polls of him in office right now.

The state budget needs to be balanced. Walker is the FIRST one actually trying to do so.

How does decreased revenue through caps on property taxes that could be used to fund municipalities/schools, and 117 million in tax cuts to out-of-state businesses prior to this budget repair bill help balance the budget?!?

I'm not a big Jesse Jackson/Michael Moore fan, so at least we can agree on 1 thing.
