Randall Cobb at the bottom of the 2nd would be awesome. Solid WR prospect, and also a killer return man.

Beast, I don't think they need to tender a low draft pick like Swain or Hall. They can be picked up for little or no money. There are other players out there with their abilities. Uncle Ted proved that when he went to market and picked up Green, Nance, Walden, Zombo and Shields etal.

Offers to BJack and Jones would have been nice.

Pardon me if I'm incorrect, but is there some rule where the team can't talk to it's players, however if they are free agents, then negotiation is allowed?

I'd wait until Finley can finish a season as a starter before saying "Jones is gone, no worries we got Finley".

If the CBA talks pass the deadline then coaches and teams can't talk to players and agents period, or at least not about work? One or the other...

But since they pushed the deadline back (and probably will keep doing that until they got a deal) currently teams and coaches can take to players and agents.

So as long as they keep pushing the deadline back until they make a deal then both sides can talk.

But I read the NFL is not accepting any deals (between teams and players) after the original deadline until they and the Union come to an agreement on a new CBA.

Why? Do you think Finley is injury prone?

I'm not saying he is, but I sure would like to see him light it up for a whole season.

I think he's failed to play 16 games in any of the three years since being drafted. And that's not enough for ME to say he's injury prone, however, it is enough to make me hesitant on putting eggs in the Finley basket.

He's played in 32 of a possible 48 games in his career.
Missed 11 games in 2010.
Missed 3 games in 2009.
Missed 2 games in 2008. (non injury related)

Good point. At least Nick Barnett (who a lot of folks here seem to hate) finished one season in the past 3 years.

Don't worry though, Zero. Ted will draft a WR.

It's now being reported Jones says he was tendered. If so I was right that first report was mistaken. It makes a lot more sense to me to tender players than just let them go.

I wonder if the team tendered any of the other players that were said to not have gotten tenders.
