via some espn writer last season:

On a personal note, my affection for Rodgers increased exponentially at ESPN's Sundance party during the conference championships, when Rodgers and his buddies unabashedly rooted against former nemesis Favre and the Vikings down the stretch and celebrated raucously when New Orleans pulled it out. Rodgers couldn't have been more delighted; he did everything but climb on the bar and start a "F--- YOU, FAVRE!" chant. I will always root for him after that. And yes, that story is 100 percent true.

Never ever ever take Mike Freeman seriously. He writes some good pieces, but he also writes a ton of complete, utter crap.

Far too articulate and grammatically correct for Bigby (and 90% of the league, unfortunately). I'm thinking it's an offensive lineman or another QB...

And that said, I don't really care. Brent is a memory. And not a particularly fond one. Kampman and Harris handled their departure like men: classy and grateful to the team. Brent joined the enemy like a vengeful, butt-hurt child.

That article is a bunch of crap. Favre actually matters to anyone in Green Bay any more?

If this is true, and I highly doubt it, I was thinking the player is either DD or Mark Tauscher.

Maybe Rodgers took it personally when Favre went to Detroit, Chicago and Minnesota to dissect his playbook before Rodgers first year. When Favre didn't even play in the same conference any more.

I would find it hard to get over someone sabotaging my career.

Some people wouldn't give that article credit. But maybe Rodgers did.

Do they have to like each other? Do they have to be buddies today? I really don't care. Favre was an awesome plauer for Green Bay. Aaron is an awesome player for Green Bay. Whether or not they talk on the phone doesn't change that.

I don't get the impression that Favre ever had any personal animosity toward Rodgers. He was upset with the Packers front office and to a lesser extent the coaching staff. He's always been complimentary of Rodgers when he speaks about him. There was and is bitterness, but it's directed toward the Packers, not Rodgers. Rodgers is just in an awkward spot because he is where Brett was. This article is terribly inflammatory and more than a little too suggestive and speculative.

I agree with Bozz and others. It's kind of a nothing article. For starters, I'd like to know who all of these people are who are allegedly ripping Brett Favre for not calling up Aaron Rodgers to congratulate him. I haven't heard anyone saying that. And I certainly don't see an urgent need for either of these guys to call the other.

More significantly, why does this even matter? There are plenty of players and former players who are not on good terms with each other. It's not a big deal.

The guy is just stirring the pot, and I honestly believe there is nothing behind it. Every time he said something about the two hating each other, it just made me shake my head because it sounded so juvenile and exaggerated.

I thought it was Driver right away. And btw, there IS no guarantee DD will be back next year. Could be Tauscher too. Both were "Favre guys."
I also think Rodgers does use this whole "proving people wrong" thing a bit too much. He dropped in the draft. Everyone talked shit. Then the situation with Brett. It just seems like he holds onto it a bit much. But then, why shouldn't he? I don't fault him for that, per se.
Favre should start by apologizing to Ted Thompson for trying to dictate to Ted Thompson how he should do his job, who he should hire as coach, what personell he should acquire. He should then apologize to MM for undermining the coach, the offensive coordinator and trying to dictate what the offensive philosophy should be and what plays should be run.
He should then apologize to the entire franchise and fan base for spreading the playbook around to opposing teams. He was like a bitter 14 year old girl.
He could even go back and apologize to Chmura, because if you think Favre was doing anything different than Chewy was at the time, you'd be mistaken.
