I think the $20million all depends on 4's desire to be an ambassador for the GBP's. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's basically a personal services contract. He does however many personal appearances, attends this many games and the Packers get to continue marketing Favre jersey's. If he doesn't want to push the team I'd imagine the deal would decrease and they'd strike some sort for the jersey rights, both parties make quite a bit on them.

Isn't there some bad blood with the White family blocking the team from marketing 92 jersey's?

Exactly.. and the reason why the 20 Million dollar price tag should be discounted now. Simply put, Brett is not and will not ever be endeared like he once was in Green Bay.

Over the course of the past couple seasons, the value of the return income to the Packers has been damaged, and while it is his legacy to worry about.. it is the Packers dollars to invest.

Attending the game this season against the Vikes.. that value has eroded greatly.

Damn it.. sale on 11 foot poles I guess.

+1 for Dingus.

This is the same Favre that was a Bear's fan last week? A Vikings QB the weeks before? My understanding is he did not accept the one-time offer. To offer it again would make GB look desperate. Simply retire the jersey when (& if) Favre is inducted into the Hall of Fame.

He said prior to the Bears game that we would go to the Dance and win it all. It was inferred that he was also behind the Packers.

Wait until his divorce is final then sign Deanna to a contract for public apearances for the Packers in all Cancer relatedfund raising and merchandising.

As for Brett. Wait until he goes into the HOF then retire his number in the middle of the off season.

I'm sure they will offer Favre the same deal. Once Favre officially retires, the Packers can no longer sell Favre merchandise without his permission. So this merchandising deal will benefit both sides.

Don't believe he's "officially retired" yet. Even so, wouldn't it behoove Favre to make sure his jersey is available at the Packer Pro Shop?
Why should the franchise he shit on do him any favors?

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Any plans to hold Maureen Smith (CFO) accountable for a 95% drop in investment revenue?
