Their OL doesn't suck. It's average. However, Martz' O takes a long time to develop which gives plenty of time for the D to generate pressure. Martz gets QBs killed. This is well known.

I just started watching the NFL replay of the Falcons game. One of the things that makes me feel great about this week's game is something that has happened plenty of times this season.

Step 1) The opposing defense has shown us a new look and is able to get some pretty good pressure.

Step 2) It doesn't last for more than a couple series.

Concurrent step 1) Opposing offense begins to set the tempo, pick up yardage, and possibly even scores.

Concurrent step 2) It doesn't last for more than a couple series.

Hey, now, I'm probably one of the quietest when it comes to the three-man rush. There are plenty of people in the room who are far more outspoken about it than I. My main objection is to their conceding the 10- to 15-yard routes -- playing off the receivers, which lets the tight ends have a heyday. I call it the shallow zone; I don't know what the technical term is for it.
