none of us will ever know the true story.
two sides & the truth's in the middle is my belief.
if you honestly believe favre is completely innocent in this...that's humorous.
if you honestly believe sterger is completely innocent in this...that's also humorous.

didn't he at some time admit he sent the texts to her? but not the pics, right? i don't feel sorry for her OR him - i think they're both complete idiots. however since he made an admission to sending her somewhat sexual texts, he deserved to be punished.

I think you are referring to this:

He never admitted to any texts (at least according to Glazer), it was those voicemails. If those voicemails constitute a suspension, I am not sure where you are going. What would be the reason for the suspension?

sexual harassment. they both worked for the jets. i don't necessarily agree that it was sexual harassment since i do somewhat believe she was a willing participant. but i really don't know - none of us do. i think the fact that the nfl stated he was less than cooperative in the investigation speaks volumes about what went on. if you're innocent, open your mouth & stop the craziness. that's what i'd do anyway.

Noted on another board.. and I don't think I could write it any better (minus a couple labels).

Sterger was going to look bad no matter how she brought forth the allegations.. but IMO they came forth in the worst possible way.

Again.. we don't know all the fact or realities of this deal.. so assuming either is complete innocent or guilty is incorrect.

Just as she made an error in waiting, Brett hasn't gone out of his way to deny that he didn't text her. $50,000 is the inconsistencies in the matter from his part.

I can agree to a point your last statement, but you overlook the obvious.

Any woman, no matter how victimized or harassed she was, that brings out charges against Favre or any other big name celebrity, will immediately be labeled a whore, tramp, golddigger, bitch, cunt, slut & any other name you can think of just as Jen was called during this ordeal.

People labeled her as they do other female victims these things & then scratch their heads wondering why they don't press charges or bring it to light? LOL! I can see why.

Two years ago, when Favre sent her the texts, had she brought it up then, the labels still would have been applied then & undoubtedly she would have lost her job over it.

I really don't understand what that singersp person is trying to say. That would apply to most cases but this one? Come on.

One of her own friends that she was a willing participant in the whole thing AND that she has pics and texts from a bunch of famous people. Just because she's a woman you can't say the obvious?

If you were so offended, why even tell this Deadspin guy about it - that was really your outlet for this "harassment"?

I get that society now has to make everyone a victim but I think its getting overboard.

I just don't believe that she wouldn't have gotten 10000000X more sympathy if she had come out as soon as it happened. If the point is that someone would have still called her those names, of course, you will find someone to say anything and justify it in their mind. But if she had come out with this as soon as it happened, she would the majority of the public's support and be a role model as well. But going around tell your friends about it, joking around about it with some random Deadspin guy, waiting weeks before committing to even being interviewed by the NFL, etc. If it smells and walks like something, its probably that thing.

Brett's a dog, she's X. Big deal, why do we have to rationalize her actions or lack of actions?

This is slightly off the tangent of this thread, and I will also acknowledge a burt hatred bias/belief that he's guilty. However, something about the Jets' coach getting fined 100k on top of the team fine because he whipped out his knee the day after Burt got fined a mere 50k for whipping out his sausage and photographing it just doesn't set well with me.

I get that they're two separate, unrelated incidents...one was out there for all to see during a game...the other was 'off the clock' and only presumably there for all to see. I just can't help but feel that Burt got off scott free for all the smoke surrounding his case.

Brett Favre story and guess what, we don't have the whole story. Seems to be a helluva trend for him.

He got off "scot free," as you put it, because the supposed victim didn't cooperate with the investigation. He SHOULD have gotten off scot free. What happened is exactly what should have happened.

Actually, this case raised my respect for Roger Goodell. It seems to be one of the first times he hasn't issued summary judgment before the facts of a case were fully known.

Gah, why am I, of all people, the one defending Brett Favre?
