RedSoxExcel do you read what you write before hitting submit? I've seen people stretch things and branch FAR out there, but damn ...

O.J. Simpson had good ratings too, what's your point?

I am not going to be bitchy as well but I don't see what the OJ Simpson thing has to do with anything. I don't remember OJ Simpson murdering someone while playing and the league still accepting him back. Whatever OJ did was after he stopped playing. If OJ Simpson was part of the murder trial, came back to play in the NFL and was welcomed with open arms by the NFL, the other players, his jersey sales were still through the roof, etc. then I would see his relevance.

I can see the argument for Michael Vick may be but OJ, ok.

How did I know you'd go off on the OJ part instead of the POINT? A trend perhaps?

Favre tarnished his legacy here. Anyone that doesn't see that is purposely blind to the facts.
His off field antics, and his telling Peppers to beat the Packers are perfect examples.
You can choose to ignore them if you want. Yes, he's a good football player, but his texting and other things shows you what kind of man he really is.
He "pretended" to be this "Aw shucks" family man country boy. Now we see the REAL him. And it's not so pretty, is it?
It's HIS image, and if he cares so little about it now, after all the years he spent building it up, it's HIS loss as i see it.
The real Favre isn't nearly who i thought he was. It's a shame, too.

I'm not saying he didn't tarnish his legacy in GB or whatever. All I'm saying is the guy gets away with anything. I think may be with some people being in Wisconsion or whatever.

My whole point was that if Favre came and made an appearance at some random event, whether Wisconsion or elsewhere or if he makes some news, everyone knows about. If you can still have that type of presence after ALL of the stuff he's done, you have to some extent become larger than the "game". He's a polarizing figure. For whatever reason, people obsess over him. I don't see how that's such a stretch or whatever.

If there is something Favre related in Wisconsion or if there is something [insert any past player of the Packers], what catches people's eyes and where would most peopel want to be. At the Favre thing. I'm not saying its a good thing, I'm just saying for whatever reason he gets away with a lot of stuff that 99% of other NFL would not, thats part of his "legacy" or whatever.
