Sometimes conventional wisdom is right. The oft-repeated analysis that Brett Favre presses when he's behind is dead on, according to Brett Favre.
"History has shown with me that when we're struggling a little bit, I try to press the issue and try to make something happen," Favre said Thursday via Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "I think that's what's made me the quarterback I am and has benefited me throughout my career. But it's also hurt me."
Another thing that makes Favre press: poor pass protection. We've been hammering this point all week. ESPN's Ron Jaworski jumps aboard, telling the St. Paul Pioneer Press that the offensive line has been a bigger issue than Favre.
Of course, the lack of practice time together on offense hasn't helped anyone.
"If I sat here and told you that I knew exactly what we're doing right now I'd be lying," Favre said. "A lot of work is left and it will be an ongoing process until we have our unit how we want to go about things and we're not there yet."
