I love to see that in his first game, he gets 18 carries. I honestly thought they'd give him 5 carries, tops. He delivered, too. Just over 4 per carry in his first game in 2 years, couldn't have asked for more. Excited to see how he does next week against a stout Detroit D-line.

Though it can be read between the lines on many of the posts, I think it's worth stating that the stats don't tell us what an upgrade Starks is over Bjack. I was actually surprised his avg was "only" 4.1 because he just seemed to be so much more productive than BJack.

Still a little too early to crown him a savior for this year's run game (and all replacing Grant talk is ridiculous) but what a promising debut!

Hey, if Starks is a step up from Grant, then we're winning the SB next year. Our O will be unstoppable.

I'm just saying let's give some love to Grant. He's been a top 10 RB 3 years in a row.

He doesn't dance around behind the line like AP waiting and giving up the 5 yard gain for a chance to break a big one once out of 10 carries. He goes and gets the 5 in a hard nosed punch in the ribs kind of way.

That is why he was so productive. He moved chains, burned clock and wore down Ds. He was the second most productive back in the NFL when he was a starter.

Between the 20+ and 40+ yard carries, AP only averages 2.8 per carry. They go 3 and out a lot and they have take him out when they need to get 3 yards and only have 1 shot at it. Because AP is only successful 10% of the time.

I would take 20 5 yard carries over one 50 and 19 little 2.5 yard ones. Not as exciting, but a lot more productive.

Yeah, I was actually hoping we'd give him 20+ carries. Maybe next week we'll do that. Lions are 24th against the run and are 30th in rushing TDs allowed. Good time to pick up Starks if you play fantasy.

Too bad he can't play at home against the Lions, being one of the worst running D's in the NFL, so he could get a few "Leaps" in.

Agreed that the replacing Grant talk is ridiculous. If anything, we will have two feature backs, like most of the teams in the NFL these days.

One question: what the hell did Starks have on his forehead? He had it on for his post game interview too. Looks like a feminine pad.

This guy brings some excitement to our offense and I can't wait to see how he plays next week. Definitely should be our featured back from here on out if he continues to play that way.

I was pulling for Starks to get a hundred yards rushing and a TD.
That would have made his debut really sweet.

I'm pretty sure the thing on his head was to protect his forehead from the helmet. Maybe he got a cut or something, and they had to protect it.
If all you have is a "Maxi-Pad" available, i guess that will do! LOL!
He looked pretty good out there.
Gives me hope that we may be able to produce a running game now.
And it's nice he's starting out now. He's got fresh legs. The season is just starting for him.
(I couldn't help but notice the post's here, and the comments on TV about "high pad level". I wonder if MM will say anything about that? LOL!)

I expect nothing out of Starks this season, so I consider any contributions he makes to this teams as a bonus. With that said, I'm stoked to have another option besides B-Jack, who should be our third down back.
