That's kind of jumping the gun, don't you think?

For now, let's focus on this season. I really wanted us to have a 1000 yard back this season. We got 4 games left. Starks has only 927 yards to go. Should be attainable.

I thought I would join the lunacy theme in the thread.. lol.. cutting Grant because of 73 yards and a cloud of melting snow. 😉

Lunacy? Where?

I'm thinking we don't even need another RB or FB as Starks doesn't need lead blockers. He just bowls people over. Plus, he never gets injured.

That should free up 3 or 4 slots on the 53 man roster for next year and we can use them for OL and D.

Starks pass blocked a few times. He looked slow to pick up his guy, but did indeed pick him up.

Just watched the video of Starks after the game. I really like this kid and hope he pans out. Hopefully more camera exposure will help him eliminate 'i mean' from his vocab.

I said a while back that Starks would have been a second rounder had he not gotten hurt at Buffalo. He ran like you would expect a second rounder too. The only thing that was missing was explosion. He'll get that once he gets the feel for the game back.

I have no problem with him running high. Whatever gets the yards.

I'm cautiously optimistic that he can be the the first and second down RB that this team needs this year.

However, Grant is not going anywhere. If anything, this season proved that you can never have enough depth at RB. A combination of Starks and Grant, with Jackson on third down would give GB a very strong RB core heading into next season.

I'm not sure what you mean. Jackson was a reach. The Packers took him that high because of his work ethic. Just because Jackson was a second rounder, doesn't mean he was/is a better runner than Michael Bush, who went in the fourth round of that year. Granted, he was injured, but all the same. Teams sometimes reach and Jackson was a reach at that time IMO.

Unlike Jackson though, Starks has the skill set of someone who would grade out in the second round. His skills as a runner are much more developed than what Jackson's were when he came out. Actually, they looked better Sunday too. He is much more decisive. He runs high, but that's an acceptable problem if he earns yards.

Porky you are working too hard at this. I just meant his was taken in the 2nd round. Some like him. Some don't. I think he does the best he can with what he's got. If the line opened bigger holes he would run farther. He has been hit behind the LOS a few times this year and managed to get back to the line or gain a yard or two. Doesn't look good on his stats but doesn't make it his fault.
