It's been 12 hours so we can be critical now :)

What on earth was going on with the backshoulder passes last night? ESPN was showing the Rodgers interview as he was addressing that specific question, but then cut away because lord burt was talking.

The wrs/aaron weren't just a little off, they were MILES off on those throws last night. Typically, if it was a mistake by the wr, you see aaron showing more emotion and yelling at his wrs, which leads me to believe he just threw some ducks out there.

Yeah, what the hell was up with that!
I was really questioning Rodgers but maybe it was the recievers.
At anyrate being the QB Rodgers was the one who came off looking really bad.
Had the Packers lost I think this would have turned into a bigger deal than it will be.
Hopefully they get that aspect of the game straightened out.

It was weird. I kept thinking, which of these QBs didn't attend training camp? It must've been mostly Aaron's fault, because it happened with several different receivers.

I think they've become overly reliant on those back shoulder throws this year. I've always liked those plays, but they shouldn't be run so often because they rely on an element of surprise. They were lucky that none of those throws were picked off last night. One of them got picked off against the Lions.

They weren't ducks as they had tight spirals. Aaron and the receivers were not on the same page. On a lot of those back shoulder throws the receivers never stopped. Clearly Rodgers thought they were stopping and the receivers thought they had fly routes. I tend to agree with Greg that Rodgers was probably off because these issues happened with Jennings, Jones, and Jordy. The common factor was Rodgers. It was one of the few consistently disappointing aspects of last night and it's something that probably kept us from scoring a few more times.

I'm sure it's a matter of how the defender is playing his coverage and what type of coverage there is by the safeties. Sort of an option route, either go or do the back shoulder. They just weren't seeing the same thing. It's the only time it has happened like this all season so I'm assuming the Vikings were doing something to confuse either Rodgers or the WRs.

Regardless, it's something they have to correct.

Thats what it is. They are option routes based on the defense. The only problem with this design is the WR and QB always have to be reading the defense the same way, or we get the results we saw last night. It's going to be pretty hard to determine who had the faulty reads without going back to watch the game film. I really don't care who is to blame, I just want this mistakes to few and far between.

You guys aren't going to get perfection from a QB. Ever.

The highest pass completion % in a season is 70.6% and that was done by both Drew Brees and Ken Anderson. I don't remember whether or not 100% was ever done in a game.

I noticed four or five of them. They were uncatchable by everyone, including (and especially including) the defense. It's not like those were wobbly balls that were catchable by the defender. They were tight spirals that went far out of bounds.

Good. If you're not going to complete a pass, make sure the defender doesn't have a shot at it either.

I really don't see the purpose of dissecting these. I see it as an anomaly, but one that didn't hurt us.

This is something that will be discussed in practice and it's more than likely a freak occurrence. I don't think it's something to be overly concerned about.

Even if the correct route was ran on most throws, the balls were completely off target.

It was strange seeing Rodgers and his receivers so off last night. They were never really on the same page.

The throws I'm referencing had nothing to do with accuracy, more being on the same page with the WRs as others have alluded to with reading the defense.

On 5 or so throws Rodgers obviously wanted to throw a back sholder pass, and not once did the wr read the same route. It's a curiosity in communication, not accuracy that I'm inquiring about.

I think it was Rodgers. Besides the throws they were calling back shoulder, that were no where close. There were others that were just uncatchable. The throw to Jordy, they were saying well he stopped. Even if he hadn't that ball was no place close to where Jordy would even have a chance.

Rodgers is making bad throws, and has for many games. Not terrible overall, but not what we expect.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
