thanks again for all your stories and insight. when i said 'kick the crap outta the kid' i was kidding.
i've drafted a letter to the prin/super & school board filing a formal written complaint. they're in the mail. i stated each individual incident, what i was told by the teacher/principal, & what the outcome was. i quoted the definition of bully, intimidation, & terror. threw in some bullying statistics, said i knew that they would never want this to happen in their district & that it was their responsibility to ensure the safety of every child. i basically made it clear to them that i was not going away, this would not be dropped, & that they needed to do everything within their power to stop it. we'll see what happens.
as far as contacting the other family, it's a nightmare. the boys mother got pregnant when she was 13, had him at 14, dad is kind of in the picture but he has 'anger problems'. these are not people one can reason with. the boy spends alot of time with his grandparents & i've talked to his grandpa in the past so maybe i need to have a chat with him again.
the calling police thing - is NOT what i want to do at all - trust me!! but i'm not going to sit back & allow this to escalate either. if the school won't do anything, then i'm left with little choice. all the research i've done suggests calling the police no matter what the age of the child is. thankfully we're close to peoria which has a juvenile division so i'm sure they'd send a juvy officer out. again - the very idea of that just makes me physically ill & i pray it doesn't come to that.
i just don't understand how this kid assaulted 4 children 2 days ago & is still going to school?!? does that not warrant a suspension? and if it doesn't, what does?? frustrating as hell!!
