The Packers have been noncommittal about Jaire Alexander's future, but sources confirmed to ESPN that the team will listen to trade offers for the cornerback.

NO got a 3rd & 4th for Marshon Lattimore

His PFF grades since 2020: 56.8, 67.4, 64.7, 77.3, 59.1

Jaire Alexander: 75.2, 75.9, 80.3, 73.4, 90.7

Contract identical. Both have missed time (JA avg 11 games a year, ML 12)

ML was injured at the time he was traded in season.

What do you think is fair compensation to expect for Jaire Alexander?

Alexander has only played 50% of the games over the last 4 seasons.

Would he accept?/Should they offer a heavily incentivized package base on games played with 1/3 of the weighting to playoff games? I healthy, he could earn big bucks, but he has to roll the dice on injury.

That approach might be far better than a 4th & 5th rounder.

I want a 2nd for him. If he can get on the field and get his head out of his *** he's a top 5 CB.
What they will get for him is a 5th. Because, why trade your drat picks for an injury prone diva that may well be released?

At least, that is my guess.

Garrett wants out of Cleveland
Jaire seems to want out of Green Bay
They both have pretty much the same amount of money left on their current contracts.
I know Cleveland will somehow screw this up on their end, no matter who they deal with .
Cleveland gets Jaire The Packers #1 pick in 2025 and a #3 pick in 2026.

Packers get Garret and The Browns #3 pick in 2025.

The contracts go with the player, so it would be up to each team to renegotiate .
I don't think The Browns would get a better offer. We will see.

I am sitting here thinking, why do we need to release Jaire Alexander, what are the pros and cons?

Well let's start of course with the money, by releasing him now you would save $6.8 million. Well the Packers would still be paying $18 million to someone not even on the team. Why not just keep him at that rate as we don't really have anyone to replace him on the team, and do we really need more cap space we still have $29 million and all the big names are gone. Maybe Jaire decides to ball it out this year to prove to other teams he can still play and we get the benefit of it and also another year to find his replacement.
We really don't know what went on behind closed doors as some rumors said that Alexander was actually just benched for the rest of the year and the injury was a cover story, and others say he was injured so who knows. But with no one really looking to trade for him have a talk with him and say we are keeping you this year, but next year we will let you walk if you want. He is seeing the none interest in him right now so maybe he becomes dedicated and we get a stud. His cap savings would be $17 million in a year of a ton of contracts are coming due.

Now on another point you could do the post june 1st and save $17 million which is a ton but then again what do we need the money for as we don't have any big names to sign, and its one less motivated player we have on the field.

I don't know was just thinking about it and really don't see the benefit of doing it when we are short in the CB room. Also, we never hear actually comments from Jaire saying he wants to leave, just that he thinks the team don't want him back.

If we are cutting just to save cap space why isn't Kenny Clark's name brought up? I am sure we could find someone for half the money to get 37 tackles for the year. Cut him we save $10 million with post June 1st cut. Think of this Alexander played in 7 games and had 16 tackles, Clark played in 17 games and had 37 and 8 of those were in 1 game. But we don't hear of any of that talk.

Thoughts?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be šŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)
