Did anyone else think Woodson caught that INT at the end of the game and then fumbled it? I was surprised that McCarthy didn't challenge it, and the broadcast booth never showed a replay.

I wish they would have showed it too. Woodson seemed okay with the call though so I wouldn't challenge it.

I'm more curious about some of the non-challenges especially from the booth. There was a seriously close play at the end of the second half that should have at least been reviewed by the booth. I've seen them stop the game for much less. It just seemed kind of eery how almost everything went the Bears way when it came to a technical standpoint.

I think it was collins (on the only non-penalty INT) but regardless, yeah, I wanted to see a replay as well because I thought he made a 'football move' before losing the ball.

It may seem that way, but frankly, I don't think the number of flags has gone up appreciably over the years. Most of the records for most penalties in a game were set decades ago.

Penalties

Most Seasons Leading League, Most Penalties, 16
Chicago Bears: 1941-44,1946-49,1951,1959-61,1963,1965,1968,1976

Most Consecutive Seasons Leading League, Most Penalties, 4
Chicago Bears: 1941-44,1946-49
L.A./Oakland Raiders: 1993-96

Most Penalties, Season, 158
Kansas City Chiefs: 1998

Most Penalties, Game, 22
Brooklyn Tigers vs. Green Bay Packers (9/17/44)
Chicago Bears: vs. Philadelphia Eagles (11/26/44)
San Francisco 49ers vs. Buffalo Bills (10/4/98)

Most Penalties, Both Teams, Game, 37
Cleveland Browns (21) vs. Chicago Bears (16) (11/25/51)

Most Seasons Leading League, Most Yards Penalized, 15
Chicago Bears: 1935,1937,1939-44,1946-47,1949,1951,1961-62,1968

Most Consecutive Seasons Leading League, Most Yards Penalized, 6
Chicago Bears: 1939-44

Most Yards Penalized, Season, 1,304
Kansas City Chiefs: 1998

Most Yards Penalized, Game, 228
Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys (1/9/2010)

Most Yards Penalized, Both Teams, Game, 374
Cleveland Browns (209) vs. Chicago Bears (165) (11/25/51)

That may be the case but I don't remember as many game-changing penalties or rule-interpretations. Probably because they had no instant replay. Which is kind of sad because it points out the fact that technology could seriously help the problems the league is facing right now as far as refs. I mean how long does it take to get an instant replay on the screen? We know how to use DVR's. You could literally overrule a call before the team has even lined up for the next play. It's ridiculous.

I also wish commentators were more apt to calling out the refs when they clearly made mistakes. I know they're most likely told to avoid doing this but it gets annoying to watch commentators blatantly ignore bad calls.

-early in game bears jumped and our left T/G reacted - should have been on the d
-they blew play dead on woodson's strip of forte in 1st Q - that was a fumble.
-very iffy holding call against Taush on Finley TD.

1. The ref said it was a "delayed reaction." If Clifton had jumped right away he would've gotten the call, but he didn't, and then he deliberately jumped half a beat later. Sounds like there's a rule that Clifton didn't know about. Neither did I.

2. That blown call hurt, although they blew the whistle so early that we didn't have a chance to see who would've recovered the fumble. But then, that's why they're not supposed to blow the whistle unless they know the runner was down.

3. It wasn't that bad of a hold, but he did hook him with the arm. Sadly, it was unnecessary, as Rodgers had already stepped up in the pocket to make the throw.

As for the Burnett PI call, he blatantly plowed into the receiver. It didn't look like he was playing the ball. That's an easy call for the refs. If Burnett hadn't done that Collins may not have been able to make the interception, as the WR may have been able to challenge him for the ball.

This loss was not on the refs at all. It was totally on the Packers.

This I would agree with. I'm always a little baffled when the replays are showing a flagrantly obvious bad call and the commentators prattle on about something not even related to the play.

Watched the game again and I think it was an iffy call on Burnett at the end of the game. He turned back towards the ball before making contact. It looked more incidental than anything, but even incidental is pass interference.

There were too angles that I seen. First one looked like it was mutual contact. The second looked like Morgan ran into the WR.

I think the rules are ruining the game and not letting players make plays. It's instead letting the flags dictate the outcome more than the players.

Our field goal should never have happened either. On a third down we held bad and it didn't get called. Tauscher tackled his guy.

I've tried removing bias from this and decide ... I just don't think it was the right call as both WR and S were going after the ball. After Collins had it, their attention was elsewhere, as it should be. There's a few aspects that have to be considered that I think are being over looked. Watching it live, definitely looks like pass interference on Morgan though.

The problem is that you have to draw the line somewhere, and no matter where you draw the line, players are going to play right at the edge in order to gain the maximum advantage. This means that at times they are bound to go over the line.

In the NBA, we have seen the result of "letting them play." The game then gets too rough and you reward the thugs instead of the most talented athletes. It's impossible to make everyone happy.

How are the rules aiding talented players? That doesn't make sense to me at all. If you're talented you are good, regardless of the rules.

Forgive me, but I prefer football like we had in the '70's than what we see today. I think that was football. Today we have high priced entertainment and the rules are geared about what makes it exciting for the fans.

Football would be just as popular without a lot of these sissy rules, I do not doubt that one bit.
