So apparently, Cutler was 1-11 on third down against the Cowboys. They way the beat Dallas is through hitting big plays against the Cowboys' blitz. So, do we sit back and force them to complete on third down? Or do we bring pressure and risk the big play?
I might consider forcing them to be consistent on 3rd down.

Whenever the Packers concede the short routes and play coverage, they seem to lose. Their strength seems to be in putting intense pressure on the quarterback. Yes, it means giving up a big play or two a game, but as long as the offense is clicking, it's not likely to be game changing, as the Bills game demonstrated.

Something you'll notice about the Dallas defense is that they seemed to jump the gun on needing to blitz. To begin the game and most the way through they were getting good pressure without bringing the blitz, but then I think they got desperate and starting bringing extras and played into the Bears hand. I don't expect us to do the same. I am confident we can get pressure with 3-5 guys.

The Packers staff has been looking at the film of that game all week long. I have a pretty good idea that any suggestion I have is very much stupid compared to what Dom, Mike, Joe, Kevin, Scott and Darren have come up with.

Packers 58 Bears 14

Flynn comes in at the start of the 4th and throws for (2) Two Td's

The Monday Night T.V. ratings crash after the half with the Packers ahead by 38 points. Most viewers change the channel to the FOX network to watch "Two And A Half Men."

Which will be ironic because after the second half, when the viewers leave the Bears will be putting "Two And A half Men." on Matthews to prevent him from getting his fourth sack.

And that is how it shall be.

Im tired as hell this friday morning but now I have a big smile on my face 🙂

I also agree with the above posters that bringing pressure on cutler is key but not bringing too many guys 3-5 not 6-7 ...

as we saw last year cutler is inaccurate when he is pressured; as long as our DBs have a chance we will be good and pick off some balls.

The Bears OL is banged up and crap. Getting pressure won't be a problem as long as Cutler keeps hold of the ball.

Against Dallas he was getting the ball out extremely fast which neutralised their pass rush.

The key will be making sure our coverage is tight enough to allow Matthews and co time to reach the QB.

I expect to see a lot of Chillar dropping back and we're going to need Shields and Burnett to continue their solid start to the season.

One thing I think that would help us greatly is to burn clock on offense. Dominate time of possession and keep their offense off the field. This is a prime tenet of the WCO. You give the other offense fewer chances and prevent them from getting into a rhythmn. It would also help Arodge get into a rhythmn. I think this is one big reason why they go into those patented Mike McCarthy lulls. They should start doing that.
Also wears down the opposing defense while keeping ours fresh.

The only problem with this is that if we plan on running the clock, we can either play a west coast passing game, or give the backs a lot of touches. The latter presents the obvious problem of our lack of talent right now, as well as the fact that we'll be running into Urlacher and Briggs. Not always easy.

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
