I don't think Clay is gonna maintain this pace,

Gee what was your first clue? Was it that no one in the history of the NFL has ever come remotely close to 48 sacks?

I do appreciate your enthusiasm however.

It's annoying me to see Matthews' name misspelled in the thread title.

You can edit it, I think. You should. Nonstop would sleep better if you did.

It's a good thing we don't have T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

That would be maddening. I will make an effort to spell it correctly from now on. Seriously man, did you cut and paste Houshmandzadeh?

Ill concede the fact that we all know, he is a beast out there.
But any talk of record breaking, and DPOY is waay premature, let him have impact against a premier QB and PO caliber offence.

Agreed that 22.5 is VERY premature. He's had some gimmies like his uncontested 2nd sack, hell, you put jarret bush in that position, and even HE could make that sack...point being that he has profitted from the front 3, where capers is putting him, etc.

However, he still has a motor that I can't recall seeing from a packer since I've been a fan, and I agree w/ Greg C...no knock on woody, but I think he's on the verge of surpassing him as the team's MVDP.

and lets not forget about his equally impressive hair

Oh, I don't. In week 1, someone made a negative comment about his hair. I straightened them out, don't worry.

Imagine, Charles Woodson DPOY '09. CM3 DPOY '10. I like it.

Also on pace for the sack record are Mario Williams, Dwight Freeney, James Harrison, Mathias Kiwanuka, Robert Mathis and Juqua Parker.

Clay has been beastly already this season. One can only hope that his hammy holds up and his play continues to grow. I think the defensive line pressure really helps with Matthews.

In the Bills case, they really had no one to double team Matthews because they were trying to stop the pressure up the middle.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
