I don't think Clay is gonna maintain this pace,

Gee what was your first clue? Was it that no one in the history of the NFL has ever come remotely close to 48 sacks?

I do appreciate your enthusiasm however.

Here's to CM3 getting 4 in Chicago! :thumbright:

I wouldn't mind seeing Favre get sacked a few times, but I certainly don't want him to hurt Favre.

He probably could've picked someone better to try picking on than our one player who has been virtually perfect so far this season

Correct me if I am wrong....

In two games Mr. Perfect has 12 tackles. Of these twelve 6 are QB sacks, which leaves 6 tackles in the run support category. He also officially has one recorded pass defense, one......

I'm not "Picking" on him. I have been hearing wisconsin sports media outlets saying crazy shit like he is one of the top five Green Bay linebackers of all time. Please.....after 22 games.

What I think Capers is doing with him is using him as a spy on the opposition's QB, he rarely drops into pass coverage. He may break the sack record but as far as Matthews being "virtually perfect"?, um...... No.

Not to mention I don't think I've seen a single missed tackle from him. That is a long way from "kind of blows in run support"

How often did Strahan drop into coverage?

Curious what your thoughts are on what plays you have seen Matthews not execute on? If you say that he is not "virtually perfect" then that must mean you have seen plays that he messed up on. Please do share. Also, I don't think you understand the concept of what a QB spy is, and you'd never do it with an OLB. A spy backer would be an ILB since they could reach both sidelines on any play. And if we were playing a QB spy scheme than we defintely wouldn't have given up the yards to Vick, and you don't spy an immobile QB like Trent Edwards. And also, go ahead and watch the game again from this week, I saw Matthews drop into coverage at least 6 snaps. Considering the amount of defensive snaps, I wouldn't call that rare. Go ahead and actually back up your claims next time you post, thanks. Too early to claim him as a top LB in Packers history I agree with. The rest of your post could use some evidence to back up though.

6 sacks in two games projects out to 48 on the season. The all time record is 22.5, and it took Favre to lay down for Strahan to get that.
I don't think Clay is gonna maintain this pace, but he's definitely got a shot at the record. Damn he's good.

Isn't Sampson a one trick pony? I mean he gets sacks, but he kind of blows on run support

I would guess that is the only reason for the applause points.

If Clay is in the back field feasting on QBs, why does he have to cover?

Clay is averaging over 1 sack per game and he has not played a full season as a starter yet.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
