I wouldn't call their D mediocre they caused the most turnovers in the NFL last year..

Finley - The reason they caused so many turnovers is because they had to. They were not a good D last year. They allowed a lot of points.

To make up for giving up points, they had to play aggressively. They had to risk going for INTs and forcing fumbles every chance they got. It was more desperation than solid D.

This year though, their DC thinks that they've improved greatly and their first game showed that either they had, or the Vikings don't know what they're doing yet. It may be the latter, but if it's the former, they're going to be tough to beat.

They had to lol If a team is good at turning the ball over I do not think they are a bad defense.Although I do not know what u consider a bad defense is.Turning the ball over can change the game for your team and will win you games.Let's look back at the NFC Championship and The Superbowl if they haven't turned the ball over with the AP fumbles and the Interception at the end with farve they would not be in the superbowl you can't say there bad if they turn the ball over. And a turnover by the defense sealed the game for the superbowl.Honestly if you can't turn the ball over you are not considered a good defense.

A defense is truly ranked by how many points they allow. The Saints were #20.

Remember 1996? We had the #1 O and the #1 D that year. We'll score on you, but you can't score on us. That's what you want as a team ideally.

The Saints on the other hand led the NFL in scoring last year but had to continually either run up the score or play from behind. How many times last year did they enter the 2nd half losing?

Takeaways are nice. Don't get me wrong. Nothing like when Woody or Collins pick off a pass and run it back. But to really measure an effective D, it's how many points they allow. If running against them is like running into a wall, and passing against them yields nothing but sacks and incompletions, you got a good D.

Example - last year's Jets. They allowed only 8 passing TDs the whole freaking year. That's insane. Their problem is whereas they'd allow so few points, their QB couldn't generate any points.

If we had our O last year and the Jets D, we would have won the SB, despite the fact that we generated more takeaways than the Jets did.

I get what your saying.I just really never thought they were that bad there at least average to me.To a certain extant they would have not got to the Superbowl if they had a bad Defense. But you do make a good point about how many points they did give up.

beast (3h) : I was kind of hoping Douglas might come back to the Pack
beast (3h) : My question is how much do we trust Jenkins? In bad weather, he seemed to struggle a bit with ball control snapping, though he started at OG
beast (3h) : Well Jenkins probably knows he's not getting that 2026 salary number without a new contact... so just trying to get the new contact early
Zero2Cool (8h) : CB Rasul Douglas is visiting the #Seahawks today, per source.
dfosterf (11h) : He's a switch and baiter. Its the same as a bait and switcher except he agreed to the switch first lol
dfosterf (11h) : 6.8 mil raise next year. Those are existing contract numbers
dfosterf (11h) : 12.8 plus 4.8 pro rata signing bonus is 17.6 mil. Top center in the league at 18

bboystyle (12-May) : The Green Bay Packers on Monday signed Taylor Elgersma, the Canadian-born quarterback who tried out at the team’s rookie camp last weekend

Zero2Cool (12-May) : And for Ian Rapoport to announce Saints send 1st and 2nd rounder to Packers for Malik Willis.
dfosterf (12-May) : *Elgersma*
dfosterf (12-May) : Today would be a good day to discover the Pack signed Taylor Engersma, the Canadian QB
Zero2Cool (11-May) : It wasn't. He simply wanted his money back. They refused. Cops came. They gave him his money in end.
dfosterf (11-May) : Fortunately it doesn't sound like a big deal
Zero2Cool (10-May) : Elgton Jenkins Involved In Strip Club Dispute ... Cops Called To Mitigate
Zero2Cool (10-May) : Derek Carr retires. Shoulder must be bad.

wpr (8-May) : HAHAHA Mucky Comment of the day.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : According to reports, Mel Kiper is furious that Sanders wasn't selected as the new Pope
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Time taken to get picked:
Zero2Cool (8-May) : New Pope: 2 days | Shedeur Sanders: 3 days
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Collin Whitchurch @cowhitchurch · 1h Chicago got a pope before it got a QB to throw for 4,000 yards in a season.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : New Pope from Chicago; in other words, the city produced a Pope before a 4000 yard passer

Zero2Cool (7-May) : beast, you're just one R from being voluptuous.
Zero2Cool (7-May) : And now some Packers blogger is like Doubs to Steelers makes sense!!!!
Zero2Cool (7-May) : You saw me Tweet???
beast (7-May) : Supposedly Steelers will be trading WR George Pickens to the Cowboys for a 3rd and late round pick swap
Zero2Cool (5-May) : Ravens release Justin Tucker, err D. Watson Jr?
Zero2Cool (5-May) : Cardinals have signed TE Josiah Deguara.
Zero2Cool (5-May) : If I were to "Google" it, then I wouldn't read it in your words.
Martha Careful (5-May) : Yes, in the military S2’s work on IPB, PERCEC, PHYSEC and IO
dfosterf (4-May) : FYI civilian companies swipe the S2 designation from the military. S2 is the intelligence branch up to brigade level. G2 is division level.
dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
dfosterf (4-May) : Are you gentlemen and at least one lady familiar with the S2 cognition
