To piggyback off of TheEngineer, I don't see how the D has improved. If the 'additional year in a scheme' argument were valid, then the packers should have improved throughout 2009, yet the Pittsburgh and AZ games were two of the worst all year, exposing the secondary.

The defense from the AZ game is virtually identical to what will play vs. Philly, with the exception of Raji starting at nose, and Burnett at safety. Raji is sort of a lateral move, and Burnett is a marginal upgrade.

I trust that the O can be extremely explosive in 2010, but it was in the AZ game and look at the outcome!

at least bush is on the bottom of the depth chart this year its better than him starting as the nickel corner lmao.

ya but think about it you didn't think that there would be some learning curve and it was the first year in that scheme of course there not gonna be perfect.I think being in the 2nd year of the scheme improved the defense a little bit not greatly but at least a little bit.Yes yes we got thrown on by some great QB's but at least we made are defense better from 2008 to 2009 and tell how the players are not better by understanding the scheme and being more comfortable in it?At least I think we improved some by being in year 2 of the 3-4.

I don't think it will go to their heads. Last year it did a little bit (although O-line injuries were most of the problem), but I just can't see them falling into that trap two years in a row, especially because they have veteran leaders in every position group. I count Aaron Rodgers among those veteran leaders.

I agree that you should expect to see improvements in year two, but again, using that logic there should have been a steady improvement throughout the year, and throughout 2009, the team regressed rather than improved.

To me, this says that the problem is with personnel, not with familiarity in a scheme, and virtually nothing has changed over the last 8 months to improve this facet of the team.

What the hell, some joker picked us as a 16-0? No way in hell. Sorry.

Honestly I really don't think they regressed they shouldn't be when the packers D was 1st against the run and 2nd in the league on Defense.Actually towards the end of the year are sacks went up and had kept some consistency creating turnovers.

We've lost Jolly, Bigby and Harris for 6 weeks. Our nickel corner is Sam Shields who only has 1 year of CB experience. Brad Jones has been banged up and still isn't fully healed, as is Matthews. Pat Lee and Brandon Underwood have not shown to be reliable backups. The defense may be more comfortable with the 3-4 but I'm still squirming in my seat the minute an elite QB comes up to the plate.

I don't know. I just don't know if they've sufficiently improved.

Cullen Jenkins is healthy, no? He's one of our more underrated players. When he's in, good things happen for the Green Bay Packers.

Also, our LBs have another year in the 3-4. A lot of football "experts" think that it takes 2 years to go from the 4-3 to 3-4 to make it work. This is our 2nd year. There's probably a historical basis for the "two years to make the 3-4 work."

Harris misses the first 6 weeks. We don't face an elite O until week 7. I wouldn't be surprised if we start off 6-0. Seriously, I wouldn't. I think those first 6 teams will be forced to play catch up with our explosive offense.

Our O is like explosive diarrhea. You can only contain it for so long.

Actually there was change first off Kampman is with the jags now,Mathews is on the Left side,Burnett is are starting SS,Shields is are nickel back for the time being, and hell even having Justin Harrell back makes it look different from last years D.Plus Dom prob. has put more plays into the playbook to make the D more dynamic.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
