Clifton and Tauscher HAVE to be on that list. You lose them, you lose Rodger's main protectors. That spells DOOM in my view.
Rodgers
Woodson
Jennings
Driver
Finley
Collins
Matthews
Favre

(Sorry.....HAD to do that!LOLOL!!!)

I'm a line guy. What can I say? That's probably the reason I left Matthews off.

The reason I put Jennings down the list farther than Sitton was that we have a lot of receiving threats. (I actually almost left Jennings/Driver off the list entirely). We don't have a lot of interior linemen that I'm comfortable with. And if we have a hole in the middle of the line, we risk a hole at #1 on the list.

I really can't see leaving Matthews off the list, because he's our only big-time pass rusher. I don't agree with you on Sitton/Jennings, either, but I see where you're coming from on that one.

It was kind of a hard list to put together because players make the list for two different reasons: because they are playmakers (Matthews, Jennings, Finley) or because their backups are clearly not ready to start (T. Williams, Collins). Obviously I put more value on playmakers than you do. Jennings, for example, really stretches the field for our offense. He's had more receptions of 40 yards plus than anyone else in the league during the last three years.

If you look at it from the "Oh Shit, if we lose XYZ we'd have to bring back Ahmad Carrol" perspective (no depth) it is a completely different list. The D-line (esp. harrel) and CBs scare the heck out of me, so Rodgers along with every DL/CB starter would top my list.

1. Clifton
2. Tauscher
3. Rodgers
4. Woodson
5. Collins
6. Williams
7. Grant
8-10...Finley/Jennings/Driver

We saw last year what happened to AR without Clifton/Tauscher, That is why I put them at the top. Looks like we have much better depth this year on the O-line, but I'm hoping we don't have to find out anytime soon.

3-7 pretty self-explanatory, too much drop off between them and backups.

I put Grant at #8, the guys not flashy, but he has proven he will get the tough yards and more importantly, protects the football.

8-10...hope we don't lose any of these guys for an extended period, but Packers have proven talent behind each of them.

It will hurt to lose other starters but the loss can be overcome to some degree or another. If they lose Aaron the season is over. (No disrespect to Flynn intended.)

10. Tauscher
9. Clifton
8. Jennings
7. Jenkins
6. Finley
5. Collins
4. Grant
3. Matthews
2. Woodson
1. Rodgers

Rodgers and Woodson are pretty self-explanatory.

Losing Matthews scares me, as the Packers look like they would have little to no pass rush without him.

Brandon Jackson hasn't shown enough to make me confident that he could start at RB for any protracted period of time, so the loss of Grant would be scary.

The Packers have little depth at safety, so Collins makes the list, especially with Bigby on the PUP list.

Finley is so far above Donald Lee in terms of production it would be a massive loss to lose him

Jenkins is the one D-lineman who has some rush potential so losing him would be a big loss.

Jennings is the Packers one elite receiver, the drop off from him to the still relateively unproven (as starters) Jones and Nelson would be significant.

Even with Bulaga I wouldn't like to see Clifton go down, I think the former could be an adequate replacement, but he's a still a rookie. Tauscher makes the list because the Packers can't be sure about what they have in T.J. Lang (after missing some of the offseason workouts) who is his likely back-up.

You're right, our O-line was pretty horrible without them, but seeing that you think that Clifton and Tauscher are more important, do you think that

Clifton - Colledge - Wells - Sitton - Tauscher with Flynn at QB would be better than

Bulaga - Colledge - Wells - Sitton - Lang with Rodgers at QB?

1.) Rodgers
2.) Woodson
3.) Tramon Williams
4.) Collins
5.) Mathews
6.) Jenkins
7.) Tauscher
8.) Clifton
9.) Pickett/Raji (either or)
10.) Finley

Honorable mention to Jennings, Burnett, and B-jax.

I mostly picked positions where we had weak depth, the secondary, our two pass rushers, OT, and DT. While guys like Jennings and Finley are incredibly talented, we have depth behind them to atleast stay respectable at the position if we lose either.

buckeyepackfan (10-Mar) : Was that Gute or Lefleur or someone else?
