I say trade him for whatever draft pick we can swindle out of somebody.

Oh, you mean Breno? Yeah, he's freaking amazing. If the Raiders give us a 1st round draft pick for him, that would be a steal on their end. I hope it doesn't happen.

We gotta keep Breno. Unless of course they're willing to trade Asamougha and a first round pick.

"PackerTraxx" wrote:

Yeah, I think that's a win/win for both teams.

Breno could knock over any Defensive Lineman in the NFL with one hand tied behind his back. The Raiders badly need pass protection. And with our DBs injured, we could use Asamougha and a 1st round pick.

I'd really hate to lose Breno as he's a fan favorite and a great guy in the locker room, and also a stud with the ladies. Would do great in Oakland and sell tickets.

But sometimes, we have to put our personal feelings aside in how much we love a player and think of the team. We need DBs. Dang I'd miss Breno. I know it would help the team, but I'd be really sad to lose him.

I don't think KGB was a project in 2000. He was a pass rush specialist in college. That is what they drafted him to do and he did it well.

so after knocking ted for drafting projects in the 5th round you could only name one who wasnt a project, and it was from 10 years ago? sweet

This is almost as funny as the yearly Jeff George rumors.

I would take an 8th round pick and a sinus headache for him at this point.

Clearly you have no idea what I am saying.

It is not something new that a 5th, 6th or 7th round draft pick is somewhat of a reach. Otherwise they would be 1st round picks.

What you asked for was just one 5th round pick that was not considered to be a project. I looked for the best example of a player who was selected in the 5th round and was not a project. The reason for KBG not being selected earlier was because he was considered to be more of a one dimensional player. GB selected him to do exactly what he did. rush the QB thus he was not considered to be a project. He did grow and develop into more than just a pass rush specialist but that was a bonus.

My point was that Ted (and I am not knocking him, merely making an observation.) seems to like to select players who other teams have passed on or players that other teams would prefer to wait a few rounds before they select. Some times it works out some times it does not.

Harrolle, Finley, Breno, Starks, Flynn, Rouse were all considered to be a reach by some. This is just a quick list. I am not going to rehash all of the past drafts.

I think an empty Crack Jacks box with the surprise still inside, those cheap ink lick and stick tattoos, might get it done.. lol.

I can see Thompson sitting in his office sporting his 200k fake 70's ink tattoo.. lol. Gee ma.. look what I got. 😉

No way. Those tattoos suck. They come off when you sweat and even if you apply them perfectly, only 90% of the tattoo actually stays on. The rest is still on the tattoo paper.
Ted Thompson is not that desperate. I'm thinking more along the lines of we trade Breno for a CD of Herbert von Karajan conducting Brahms' Fourth or Beethoven's Sixth. I could see Ted Thompson pulling Aaron Rodgers into his office and telling him to stop listening to such bland shitty music and listen to this instead. That would be more worth the trade.
