When I saw DeShawn Wynn when I knew it was old as he's now with the Saints (which sounds like he'll ether be the #4 RB or be cut if they don't keep 4 RBs.).

By the way, in response to the question in the OP, cuts aren't due in until 4:00 p.m. ET.

Maybe next time we should actually wait until the Packers cut the roster to 75 before beginning a lengthy thread on the subject.

Smart moves on the part of the Packers. This team will have the maximum possible amount of talent available for evaluation during the final preseason game. And they keep Porter's rights for another year.

It also gives them a chance to keep an extra S and an extra CB for the first 6 weeks while they figure out if guys like Shields, Underwood, Lee, Bush, Peprah, Martin, etc. will step up and play. And then they can reload after week 6 with some (hopefully) healthy veterans from the PUP.

Those first 6 weeks might get a little ugly, though.

Porter on IR? Does that mean Lumpkin is our third RB?

I am kind of hoping we get a better guy cut from another team to be our third RB. I'm not impressed with Lumpkin, but we need a 3rd RB.

If Grant or Jackson gets banged up, I feel we might be seeing a lot of 2 yard runs by John Kuhn

There are always RB's available and they don't have to know too much of the playbook if they aren't in on 3rd down.

Bigby was no unexpected. Harris has worked hard to get where he is. Unfortunately like Tauscher last year there just isn't enough time.

Starks either gets it together or goes on IR after the PUP time.

Porter is getting paid and will have a second chance. Even if given an injury settlement later on he is unlikely to be signed elsewhere. He is actually lucky.

Luck too is Lumpkin. I he can produce Thursday he might just get 6 weeks of income or even more.

Pat Lee on the other hand has refused to anser the door when opportunity has been knocking.

We just might see a lot of engergetic play and some real hitting on Thursday.

I have a bad feeling Jarrett Bush makes the final roster as the 4th safety behind Peprah. I think Blackmon will join Bigby on the PUP list. Bush has more lives than a cat.

"get_louder_at_lambeau" wrote:

I also forgot to comment on one thing. Blackmon can't be on the PUP list.

"Tezzy" wrote:

That's true. It's on the roster, IR, or cut for him. And I'm not sure about the cut part. It might be waived/injured, because I think they'd have to give him a settlement if they cut him while he has an injury. To be on PUP, he would have had to have been on it all through Training Camp.

"DakotaT" wrote:

What are you talking about? They could still PUP him. Why couldn't they? Nice to see they stashed Porter. Should've PUP'd him as well.

They can't put Blackmon on the regular season PUP list because he's not currently on the training camp PUP list.

you guys are pretty slow to not notice players names that were not on our team this year and even the date listed.

I thought all you guys were packers fanatics ... 🙂

If JB gets cut, there will be no=one to blame for every mistake the defense makes, oh wait AJ Hawk is still on the roster.

Maybe if some of these other guys could just stay on the field, Bush would be gone, but he seems to show up week after week, year after year, and does his job as best he can, so IMHO he deserves a roster spot.
