If you practice christianity in muslim countries, you get killed; but americans are the intolerant ones. Facepalm.

It's a contest? I didn't realize it was a contest. Sweet, we win! High fives all around!

So what you're saying is we can prevent them from building the community center and we will still be justified in feeling superior?

That the world fails to practice what I preach is not an excuse for me to not practice what I preach.

The world is full of barbarians. This is irrelevant to whether or not I should behave like a barbarian.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Christian practicioners have been hounded in Iraq yes, but I wouldn't go as far as saying "in muslim countries" cause that's a fuckload of countries.

Building a mosque at ground zero is dumb. Why do I say that? Its common sense. That's all.

"Rockmolder" wrote:

It is.

You stir up a lot of crap for absolutely nothing. Just let them build it somewhere else. This won't do anything but keep keep a rift between Islam and western civilization.

Btw, I never said they should not be allowed to build a mosque near ground zero. They should absolutely be allowed to.

I just said its a dumb idea. Which it is.

Funny......but i don't see that in the Bible.
I heard the nut cases called "a random few". Yet there is alot more Muslims that believe in killing us "infidels" then you would probably believe.
I don't see true Christians running around saying we should kill everyone that doesn't believe as we do.
Trust me.....if they could get away with it, they would kill you and your family.
I knew (and lived with for a short time) a Muslim. Before i lived with him, i thought he was one of the nicest people i ever met. Then i started seeing the REAL him. He told me straight out he HATED America with a passion. Yet he CHOSE to become a citizen. When i asked him about the oath he took here, he told me he would say anything, it didn't mean he meant it.
THAT my friends is how most of them see us. They "put up" with us, cause for now, they have to.

I went to school with an Islamic kid. Knew his father, as well. They came here fleeing from something. His dad is more succesful than most and has a very well running restaurant. That kid just finished high school and is going to college now.

There's a child rapist who used to live pretty close to us. He used to go to church. My father and step-mom saw him when they went to church from time to time.

Now, I don't know a whole lot Christians, since most are non-practicing or athiests here, but if my calculations are correct, 1 of the 3 people I know who do go to church are child rapists.

I think we should close churches down, because the real intent is to lure children in there and have sex with them.

And some more nativistic views.

This is outright wrong.

As someone who has family from the mother's side in Pakistan, and having visited and stayed for 2-3 months at a time in Pakistan with my English father, your claim is downright BS.

They have Churches, and a surprisingly high Christian population. In fact, were it not for attending Church, you would never believe them to be Christian.

Regardless, they are not persecuted, or sought out and killed because they are Christian. Indeed Christians are killed, but not because of their religion, but because they (like other innocent by-standards - be it Muslim or atheist) get caught in the cross-fire between political factions opposing (both ideologically and physically) the current government in power: the MQM.

Hell, let's talk about the grandest Muslim country of them all: Saudi Arabia. There is a grand time to be had clubbing there, actually. Oh, and you should see the foreigners that hit the beaches, looking for a fun time. Indeed there are no publicly sanctioned Churches or Synagogues in Saudi, but you sure as hell can find small private spaces opened in one's basement, for instance, that are often used as a place of gathering for Chrisitans and the Jewish. Not once has any person of such faith residing their expressed concern to me during my time that they feared prosecution for having opened private places of worship.

Don't get me wrong: there exists a high level of intolerance in these countries for those who are not Muslim. Difference is routinely seen in lesser terms, to put it more intellectually. But being actively persecuted? Because they are not Muslim? That is downright BS.

The level of intolerance, though, all over the world for religions other than the majority is downright appalling.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
